academic proficiency, cultural awareness, responsible citizenship, and to
develop strength of character in a safe, supportive environment.

Consolidated Plan Structure
The major components of the plan are Learning Environment (I) and Academic Performance (II-VIII). Equity concerns, technology, community involvement, and
barriers to learning are embedded within each portion of the plan. Equity gaps were identified between boys and girls and students participating in the Free and Reduced
Lunch Program and non-participating students. All groups have made substantial progress on the goals set for them in our previous Consolidated Plan. The plan and its
goals are designed to address student achievement, concerns from the Effective Schools Survey, and improvement goals set as a result of our self-examination on the
Standards and Indicators for School Improvement.

Communication of the Plan
This Consolidated Plan will be distributed to each faculty member and reviewed as teachers develop Professional Growth Plans in May 2002. It will be provided to
SBDM Council Members, District Administration, PTO Officers, South Madison Family Resource Center, and the Madison County Board of Education. Copies will be
placed in the school library for parents to access. Highlights of the plan will be published in our May newsletter to all parents. Monitoring the portions of the Consolidated
Plan will be delegated to the Principal and SBDM Committees. Implementation will involve all stakeholders. Monitoring of the implementation and impact of the plan will
serve as the basis for revisions.
