The Denver Pioneers men’s lacrosse team represents the
University of Denver in National Collegiate Athletic As-
sociation (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. The Univer-
sity of Denver (DU) Men’s Lacrosse Program was first
introduced in 1966 as a club sport. The program alter-
nated between varsity and club status when it was first
initiated. Denver plays its home games at Peter Barton
Lacrosse Stadium, which has a capacity of 2,000 people.[1]
The Pioneers currently compete in the ECAC Lacrosse
League (ECAC) after previously playing in the Great
Western Lacrosse League from 1998 to 2009.[2]
Through 2010, Denver had a 181–177 record in both
Division II and Division I. In Division I alone, they are
71–68. The Pioneers made their first NCAA Tournament
