MEMBERSHIP (R.ROWE/MOTTA)

Members—30 Supply houses –2

NJECA (FLECTCHER/MOTTA-ALTERNATE SHADE)

Last month was the annual meeting, with a decent turnout. There weren’t any by law

changes or voted upon at this meeting. Lisa Laven, from our lobbyist office, gave a brief

report on some of the new prevailing wage legislations that have been proposed, all of

which we, NJECA, oppose. The membership voted upon, and approved the formation of

a coalition to fight some of the new prevailing wage legislation; we will be working with

MSEIA on this. It was also voted upon to open dialogue with the solar community about

he recent Board of Examiners’ ruling that solar panels must be handled and installed by

licensed electrical contractors. NJECA membership felt it was a good idea to befriend

the solar community on this issue, rather than oppose them.

this committee.
