Strong Support for the July 7th, 2007 ART AT THE LAKE SHOW by Local Artists

Lakemont, GA -- The excitement is building as preparations are underway for North
Georgia Arts Guild to host the first annual ART AT THE LAKE Show and Sale. Over
twenty-five artists have committed to participate. The show will be Saturday July 7th
2007 at The Pavilion at Lake Rabun from 10AM-8PM. Attendance is free, open to the
public, and dress is casual.
The artist participating (to date) include: Wayland Moore, Tom Landreth, Jon Whiddon,
Rennie Davant, Robie Fisch, Helen Roberts, Paula Van Huss, Alan Zarter, Jean Stewart,
Judith Hendrix, Frank Bean, Peggy Payne, Kathy Hamdy-Swink, Sandy O'Brien, Libby
Mims, Dolores Borman, Ellene Breedlove Davies, Terry Gutherie, Susan Belew, Jack
and Peggy Boozer, Jesse Collins, and Sandy Browning. Artist participating are from the
North Georgia Arts Guild, Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts, Lake Rabun Association
Artists, and Hochokan.
Hochokan will host their “Make Art” program in an outer tent beside the Lake Rabun
Pavilion. Plans for show attendees to explore their artistic talents include: tie dyeing t-
shirts or decorating flip flops/tote bags. A nominal fee for the “Make Art” program will
be required to cover material costs. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an
adult to participate in Hochokan’s programs. The “Make Art’ program will be ongoing
from 10AM - 4PM.
Other planned activities include a wine and cheese social from 5:30-8PM accompanied
by light music from a local artists Mountain Hoodoo -- an acoustical duo who sings
traditional mountain, folk, and gospel music. Informal 10 minute group “Chat with an
Artist” will be held every 10minutes before the hour.
