About Mount Gambier Community Events Management Inc. The committee consists of community members who are dedicated to bringing quality, inclusive community events to Mount Gambier, and to assist others in holding successful events. Their combined skills cover a broad spectrum including festival & event management, tourism, local government, media, financial management, marketing, and emergency & safety services. Mission Statement:
To support appropriate community events for the benefit of the broader local community. To encourage public awareness of the contribution and value of community events. Subject to the approval by the Board of Directors, provide assistance to other local community groups and associations to conduct community events. To encourage members of the local community to become active in community events. To seek support from all levels of government and also promote the value of community events to government agencies and bodies. Liaise with local community and service groups, businesses and interest bodies to establish partnerships for the benefit of the community. Conduct all business in an open and transparent manner and be open to the local community
What we can offer you. The Mount Gambier Community Events team are preparing for an extensive marketing campaign in the lead up to New Years Eve in the following ways: Advertising methods
• Frequent and regular media releases to Mount Gambier and surrounding district media outlets including print, radio and tv. • Editorial through Lifestyle1 Magazine, which is distributed to 53,000 homes across 64 towns, in full gloss colour. • Blanket distribution of fliers and posters to community noticeboards and through shopping districts. • A website (www.mountgambierevents.com) featuring updates on the progress on the event and sponsor highlights, etc., as well as regular email newsletters to interested community members. • Naming rights to an event or area. For example, [insert company name here] presents: the Power Hour, Stage 1, 10pm; or Kids Corner presents by [insert company name here]. • Banners/stall on display during the event. • Commentary recognition during the event. • Certificates of appreciation, for all businesses and community members who contribute to the event, to represent your community spirit to your patrons, customers and staff.
Why New Years Eve? For a number of years it has been questioned why Mount Gambier doesn’t hold a New Years Eve Festival. On the biggest night of the year there isn’t a single event that is inclusive to families from Mount Gambier and the surrounding districts. For a population of our size, and the fact Mount Gambier is a central destination for the outlying districts in the South East of South Australia and Western Victoria, this is a community event that is well overdue. 2009 is already shaping up to be a trying year for rural communities. With global economic pressure affecting even our daily household budgets, coupled with bushfires and drought, sometimes it is only our community spirit that keeps the wheels turning. Community spirit that deserves recognition, support and most of all, celebration.

Whether you can contribute $100 or $10,000, the Mount Gambier Community Events Management Committee can accommodate your requirements and setup a tailor made package to suit your budget, reflecting your contribution to this sensational community event. Your business logo or company name will be represented on various advertising materials, including print and online media. Above all though, you will receive the satisfaction that comes with knowing you helped launch a celebration of community spirit, for one of the biggest parties of the year - NYE 2009.
