Local Information
Grove Villa is located in the village of Crossgates, just three miles from the
nearest town, Llandrindod Wells.
Llandrindod Wells was a famous spa town during the mid 18th to early 19th
centuries and visitors would arrive from all over Great Britain and Europe to ‘take
the waters’ during the Season. Whilst this is no longer the case, visitors can still
taste the waters from a spring in the Rock Park, as well as visiting the towns golf
course, tennis courts, bowling greens and beautiful scenery.
Llandrindod still retains its Victorian heritage with a ‘Victorian Festival’ every
August with local people and visitors alike dressing in Victorian costumes. The
town also enjoys many activities during this period such as open air
entertainment and exhibitions. The festival ends with a spectacular torchlight
procession through the town and a firework display over the lake. [For further
