Grant Request Proposal 2010
For the convenience of the Adams County Community Foundation (ACCFoundation) Grants
Committee and the organizations providing requests for funds, the ACCFoundation grant
process has two (possibly three) phases. These phases (with the deadlines) are:
Phase I
1. Initial grant application submitted for review:
Winter Grant Season Deadline by 4:00 PM, 2nd Thursday in January*
The Winter grant season allows a maximum request of $500.00.
Spring Grant Season: Deadline by 4:00 PM, 2nd Thursday in April*
The Spring grant season requires a collaborative event, project, or program of two
or more not-for-profit organizations that serve Adams County residents.
Summer Grant Season Deadline by 4:00 PM, 2nd Thursday in July*
Fall Grant Season: Deadline by 4:00 PM, 2nd Thursday in October*
*In the ACCF office, postmarks are not considered. As ten copies are required, no fax or
electronic copies will be accepted. Questions? Call for details: (260) 724-3939.
The nonprofit organization submits a grant request (plus supplemental material) to provide an
overall summary of their program and funding request. If the organization’s request is approved for
Phase I, (only when necessary), upon request of the ACCF office, the organization may be
responsible for providing additional information (Phase II). Contact will be made by the ACCF staff.
Phase II
2. Complete application has been reviewed and there are questions.
(A call will be made to the organization if this is necessary)
If a Phase II is necessary, this individual organization will be contacted with the information
needed. If the ACCF calls for additional information, this does not guarantee funds will be
provided, rather, it indicates the Grants Committee simply has some questions.
Phase III
3. Visitation
As our grant committee grows and our grant distribution increases, the committee may opt to
make personal visits to an organization which submitted a grant request. This may or may not
be announced. The visit will depend upon the requesting Grant Committee member, the
purpose of the question(s), and time availability of the grant committee.
Letters of approval / denial are typically sent out within four weeks of the due date.
Thank you
The Adams County Community Foundation Board of Directors and the Grants Committee
appreciates the time you took to fill out the ACCF grant application. It is the desire of the
committee that this Phase I / II / III method will assist the organizations submitting requests.
If you have any questions, you may call the ACCFoundation office at (260) 724-3939 or email
at accfoundation@earthlink.net. Applications may also be accessed on the ACCF website at:
