7113- 610 Classic Balloon Décor
This progression course further develops your Balloon Artistry skills achieved at level 2 to create more
intricate designs. Candidates are shown a variety of new skills and techniques which enable them to
construct a vast range of designs often used in the Balloon Industry.
The Course A one day a week course of 30 weeks duration.
Attendance day at college are:
Wednesday 9.30-4.00pm at Enfield or
Wednesday 9.30-4.00pm at Castle Green
There is no end of year examination, candidates are continually assessed to
allow them to demonstrate competency over all the elements; through the
production of written portfolios and practical assessment.

Assessment Attainment of the City & Guilds Level 3 Balloon Artistry certificate is
through continual assessment evidence. Candidates benefit from fair and
reliable assessment by trained and qualified assessors. Candidates will
be required to produce a folder of work with evidence of the practical and
design units covered in the course. Candidates are responsible for
ensuring their portfolio evidence is available for external verification.
Course Candidates will be required to provide their balloons and related products.
Facilities to purchase required materials and balloon gas will be made

available through the College. All candidates are required to provide their
own tools and wear suitable clothing. You will need to take photographs
of your work, therefore the cost of this must be considered.
Qualifications Success in this programme leads to the nationally recognised City &
Guilds Level 3 Balloon Artistry certificate.
Gained
Achievement is through 3 x practical assessments for each of the named
Balloon Artistry units together with a portfolio of evidence for both the
Balloon Artistry and Design units.
Entry Requirements Successful achievement of the City & Guilds Level 2 Balloon Artistry
certificate or equivalent. A good command of both spoken and written
English is also required for successful completion of the course, therefore
results from screening tests for literacy and numeracy will be considered.
