Summary of Historical Use of Ingredients
Proprietary ingredients are selected for the role they play on nerve impulses to the brain (dementia,
mood swings, depression, etc.) and for their strong antioxidant properties.
Select forms of vitamins are used (Vitamin E – The natural "d-" form is approximately 2-3 times
more bioavailable than the synthetic "dl-" form) (Vitamin B5 – Only the “d-“form of pantothenate
is useable by humans and other animals).
Vitamin and mineral supplements have proven to have synergistic effects when taken in
appropriate combinations and dosages.
The body does not store most vitamins. A person must consume them regularly. People who
follow restrictive diets would be most in need of a vitamin/mineral supplement.
Minerals are necessary for the normal functioning of the body’s cells.
Frequently Asked Questions about Vitemind™
Q. What is the difference between ViteMind™ and a multi-vitamin?
A. ViteMind is a unique combination of vitamins, minerals and plant nutrients designed to provide
nutritional support for the central nervous system. A multi-vitamin is designed for general nutrition only.
Q. Why was ViteMind™ created?
A. Preliminary research seems to indicate there is a need for essential trace minerals, vitamins, antioxidants
and amino acids in the body to maintain a positive mind and emotional balance.
Q. Are there any side effects with ViteMind™?
A. No. The only adverse reaction is a slightly upset stomach if the product is taken on an empty stomach. If
the product is taken with meals, as directed, this problem is eliminated.
Q. What is an effective dosage?
A. For those wishing to use ViteMind™ for general supplementation, we suggest 1 capsule twice a day
(morning and evening). For those taking ViteMind™ for cognitive and emotional support, we suggest
starting with 2 capsules twice a day and working up to a dosage of 4 capsules, twice a day. It is important
to find the dosage that works for you as an individual. Our research indicates that an individual can
establish his/her level in about two to four weeks. Very severe depression will most likely require a much
higher dosage than basic supplementation.
2
Q. What if ViteMind™ doesn’t seem to be helping?
A. Depending on height, weight, gender, fitness level etc. results may vary. Begin by following the
recommended dosage. By monitoring how you are feeling it should not take long to find a dosage that will
be optimal for your circumstances. If your problem is not being caused by lack of nutrition, you should
consult a health practitioner.
Q. Do drugs, alcohol or tobacco interfere with ViteMind™?
A. Our research indicates that these substances interfere with the central nervous system and as such could
reduce the effectiveness of ViteMind™. Therefore results may vary or take longer to be seen.
Q. Do other nutritional supplements interfere with ViteMind™?
A. Our research indicates that herbal preparations that have a psychotropic affect may interfere with
ViteMind™.
Q. How does ViteMind produce such good results?
A. One of the reasons is that the mineral in ViteMind™ is reduced to such a small particle size, that even
the human eye cannot see it. Research has shown that when the mineral is broken down to extremely small
particles, the body will use more of the mineral and at a faster rate.
Q. Will ViteMind™ heal my condition?
A. No. ViteMind™ is merely food that your body may desperately need. Supply your body with the
needed nutrition and it will grow healthy. Stop providing necessary nutrition and your condition will most
likely return.
Q. Why would simply taking these vitamins improve my health?
A. That is very difficult to answer. Some people appear unable to assimilate certain vitamins and minerals
from their food diet. Research has shown that when vitamins and minerals are made easier to assimilate,
and taken in the proper proportions, the probability of noticeable benefits increases.
Historic Medicinal Use
Vitamin A: Best known for promoting and maintaining healthy eyesight, preventing night
blindness, and helping one’s eyes adapt to darkness. Plays a vital role in maintaining the health of the skin,
mucous membranes, and other surface linings, including the intestinal tract, urinary tract, and respiratory
tract. Helps increase the body’s resistance to bacterial and viral infection. By protecting the lining of the
digestive tract, vitamin A may protect against certain gastrointestinal problems and ease symptoms of
inflammatory bowel disease and ulcers. Boosts one’s immune system by enhancing the infection-fighting
action of white blood cells called lymphocytes. Essential for bone growth, cell division, and human
reproduction. It facilitates the absorption of iron from foods.
Vitamin C: Well known to decrease the severity and duration of colds and flu. Protects against the effects
of cell-damaging molecules called free radicals. Clinical evidence that Vitamin C may boost levels of HDL
cholesterol in the blood. Plays a key role in maintaining healthy nerve cells, and is often taken in
combination with vitamin E, mixed carotenoids, ginkgo biloba, and coenzyme Q10 to help prevent memory
loss. May combat deteriorative effects of aging (such as wrinkles) caused by free-radical damage,
especially in combination with other antioxidants, e.g. vitamin E, flavonoids, carotenoids. The body's
ligaments, tendons, and collagen (a protein found in connective tissues) rely on the presence of Vit C to
stay strong and healthy. Vitamin C helps the body to repair and maintain itself by reinforcing cell walls and
helping to strengthen tiny blood capillaries. Has been shown to reduce symptoms associated with stress.
Vitamin D: Critical to helping increase bone strength and overall bone health, as well as in
promoting immunity and blood cell formation by stimulating calcium and phosphorous absorption.
3
Also helps in treatment of psoriasis. May aid in slowing or reversing some cancers.
Vitamin E: Strong antioxidant, especially in the natural "d-" form (in ViteMind™) extracted
from vegetable oils: it is approximately 2-3 times more bioavailable than the synthetic "dl-" form,
and facilitates use of the trace mineral selenium and vitamins A and K by the body. Antioxidant properties
are responsible for enhancement of immune system function, reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and
circulatory disorders, reduction of blood cholesterol levels, reduced cancer risk, improved memory, and
improvement of skin and joint problems and of diabetes-related nerve complications.
Vitamin B1: Supplementation is essential for older adults, alcoholics, and individuals taking diuretics (a
standard treatment for congestive heart failure). Thiamine is particularly helpful in treating depression,
anxiety, and stress. It also helps to increase one’s energy levels, maintain memory, and improve
carbohydrate tolerance. It may lessen the numbness and tingling experienced by individuals with diabetes
and with nerve degenerative disorders.
Vitamin B2: Along with other B vitamins, helps the body convert into active forms, riboflavin protects the
nervous system. It may therefore help in treating nervous system conditions, including Alzheimer's disease,
epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis, as well as more general symptoms of numbness and tingling, anxiety,
stress, and fatigue. Supplementation of one’s diet with vitamin B2 increases energy levels, reduces chronic
fatigue and improves concentration and mood.
Vitamin B3: Plays a key role in releasing energy from carbohydrates and helping to
control blood-sugar levels. Vitamin B3 also has notable anti-inflammatory properties, and may
help in calming joint inflammation. It is also effective in the treatment of various nervous disorders,
including insomnia, fatigue, vertigo and headache.
Vitamin B5: Only the “d-“ form (in ViteMind™) of pantothenate is useable by humans and other
animals. Vitamin B5 has anti-stress activity: it works in concert with vitamin C to boost the production of
hormones that help the body deal with the adverse effects of stress-induced migraines. Vitamin B5 also
helps reduce symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis, and helps lower blood cholesterol levels.
Vitamin B6: Takes part in the production of hormones and brain neurotransmitters (chemical messengers)
such as serotonin, thereby providing support for nervous system function and improving emotional
outlook/mood.May also help to minimize memory loss associated with the early stages of Alzheimer's
disease.
Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid): Folic acid and vitamin B12 are closely interrelated and should be taken together:
taking only one of these B vitamins can mask a deficiency in the other. B9 helps to generate red blood
cells, heal wounds, build muscle, and produce hormones and neurotransmitters. Guards against such
ailments as depression, Alzheimer's disease, and certain types of cancer. The body doesn’t retain B9 for
long before it is broken down or excreted in the urine. Thus, high potency supplements are a practical way
to ensure that this vital nutrient is provided to the body in adequate amounts that diet may not provide.
Vitamin B12: Required for normal growth and maintenance of nerve tissue (specifically the myelin
sheath, the fatty substance that covers nerves and enables them to function properly). Helpful in treating the
effects of aging and Alzheimer's disease, as well as depression and various neurological problems,
including dementia. As many as 20% ofolder adults are suspected to be deficient in vitamin B12 but don’t
know it. Deficiency can cause fatigue, depression, confusion, memory loss, muscle weakness, numbness
and tingling in the hands and feet due to nerve damage. Supplementation, especially with other of the B
vitamins, helps improve memory, promote concentration and increase energy levels.
Vitamin H: Its key role in the process of gluconeogenesis in the body helps to increase energy
levels, promote normal cholesterol levels and reduce blood sugar levels.
Calcium: An essential microelement which helps form and strengthen bones and cartilage.
4
Calcium is an essential constituent of every living cell and plays a key role in regulating the uptake of
nutrients by cells by controlling membrane permeability; stimulating muscle contraction; regulating the
transmission of nerve impulses from one cell to another by its control over the formation of acetylcholine
Phosphorous: Required for the formation of bone and teeth, and for energy production.
Magnesium: Required for the formation of bone and teeth, for normal nerve and muscle function,
and for the activation of enzymes. Many enzymes in the body depend on magnesium to function
properly.
Potassium: Involved in the metabolism of both carbohydrates and proteins, and is an activator of
several key metabolic enzymes.
Iodine: Plays a vital role in the regulation of hormone production from the thyroid gland. Thyroid
hormones are essential for normal growth and reproduction. Iodine is often called the “metabolizer”, since
the thyroid hormones function to regulate the metabolic rate of all body processes.
Zinc: A required element for normal growth and development, especially of the male reproductive
system. Appears to boost the effectiveness of vitamin A. Helps repair the skin's top layers in part by
helping to process the essential fatty acids that promote the healing process. Believed to promote a strong
immune system. Supplementation has been shown to reduce symptoms of some forms of atherosclerosis,
possibly by activating enzymes key to the health of red blood cells. Deficiency is common today due to the
depletion of nutrients and minerals in our soil, and losses during food processing. Deficiency is believed to
lead to a wide variety of degenerative diseases and illnesses.
Selenium: Essential trace mineral which protects tissues and membranes from oxidative damage. Helps to
boost the immune system and fight off infection, providing a general increase in the body's defence against
dangerous bacteria, viruses, and the risk of cancer. Studies have demonstrated that individuals previously
diagnosed with cancer with low selenium levels have a greater likelihood of cancer
recurrence, are at higher risk of having their cancer spread, and generally survive shorter periods of
time. The antioxidant action of selenium may be responsible for helping to prevent the two most common
causes of impaired vision and blindness in older Americans, cataracts and macular degeneration.
Copper: An essential component which plays a key role in protecting the myelin protein sheath
surrounding nerve fibres, in bone and connective tissue formation to prevent osteoporosis, in the formation
of melanin pigment of skin and hair, reproduction and heart function.
Manganese: Has been described as the “brain mineral” since it is believed to be important in the
utilization of all mental facilities/functions.
Chromium: An important trace mineral in carbohydrate metabolism, Chromium is an essential for normal
growth and longevity. It is an important factor in carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism and to
maintenance of normal health status. The body does not easily absorb the mineral. Significantly improved
absorption is achieved when chromium is combined with vitamin C.
Molybdenum: It has an essential role as a component of the xanthine oxidase enzyme responsible
for the formation of uric acid in the body. This essential trace mineral is also instrumental in
regulating pH balance in the body. It helps in the formation and activation of some key enzymes
involved in the repair and making of genetic material.
Iron: Iron is essential for energy, a sharp mind, and a strong immune system. Studies show that
even the slightest iron deficiency causes a short attention span in adults and makes it hard for teens
to concentrate. Iron also helps the blood and muscles supply oxygen to the body.
Citrus Bioflavanoids: The citrus bioflavonoid complex used in ViteMind™ consists of natural
derivatives of lemon, orange, grapefruit, lime and tangerine. The strong antioxidant activity of
5
citrus bioflavonoids is behind their many health benefits: enhancing the effectiveness of vitamin C;
helping to maintain healthy blood vessels by helping to reduce total and LDL-cholesterol levels;
strengthening capillaries and regulating their permeability, thereby helping to reduce symptoms of
atherosclerosis; helping to ease bruising and to prevent inflammation. Citrus bioflavonoids are also
excellent natural antimicrobial agents. Furthermore, they may be instrumental in inhibiting cancercausing
compounds and, thus, may have potential chemo-therapeutic value. The amount of citrus bioflavonoid
complex used in the ViteMind™ formulation is optimized to potentiate the medicinal/therapeutic effects of
the other ingredients of the formulation, without incurring adverse effects.
Grape Seed: The strong antioxidant properties of the tannins in grape seed extract have been well
documented. In Europe, it has been used for the treatment of various vascular (vessel) disorders that benefit
from increased blood flow, e.g. diabetes, leg cramps, varicose veins, arm and leg numbness or tingling, and
impotence. Studies have also demonstrated the ability of grape seed extract to promote eye health, i.e. by
reducing the risk of macular degeneration and cataracts
Choline Bitartrate: Choline is essential in the building and maintenance of cell structure. It is also
a component of acetylcholine, which plays a key role in the transmission of nerve impulses.
As a supplement, choline is believed to help in the treatment of a broad range of disorders:
liver diseases, Tourette's disease, the loss of muscle coordination, involuntary muscle spasms,
complex partial seizures, asthma, depression, memory loss, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease and
dementia. It is also important for brain development, increasing energy levels and delaying the
onset of fatigue
Inositol: Related chemically to glucose, this B vitamin is required for many different functions
within the body, including calming the nervous system. There is clinical evidence to suggest that inositol
supplements may have benefits similar to the conventional drugs used to treat panic disorder,
depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Inositol has been used as a supplement to help treat
nerve damage often associated with diabetes, and for conditions associated with disorders of fat
transport and metabolism, high cholesterol, insomnia, polycystic ovary syndrome, cancer,
schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism.
Ginkgo Biloba: Ginkgo's anti-inflammatory effects can protect neurons from oxidative stress and injury,
which may prevent progression of tissue degeneration in patients with dementia, central nervous system
disorders and other conditions. Cognitive function has been shown to improve in some elderly people with
mild to moderate age-related memory impairment. In several studies, ginkgo has modestly improved some
measures of cognitive function, particularly short-term visual memory, and increased the rate of cognitive
processing in non-demented patients with age-related memory impairment. Ginkgo may improve memory
and speed of cognitive processing, including increasing speed of performance on factors requiring
concentration and focused attention in people with no complaints of memory impairment. The specific
Ginkgo constituents, ginkgolides A and B, have been shown to decrease glucocorticoid biosynthesis, which
might play a role in ginkgo's anti-stress and neuroprotective effects. Ginkgo may improve cognitive
behavior and sleep patterns in individuals with depression, and may prevent winter depression. Ginkgo
may be beneficial for cognitive disorders secondary to depression.
Glutamine: The most abundant free amino acid in human muscle and plasma considered to be essential
for proper immune function.
Methionine: A sulphur-containing essential amino acid that plays a vital role in many cellular
reactions. Methionine is a lipotropic factor with choline. Diet supplementation with methionine has been
shown to help relieve depression and elevate one’s mood, reduce arthritis pain, maintain the body’s
antioxidant status (via glutathione) and help to treat alcoholism, allergies, asthma, copper toxicity, radiation
side effects, schizophrenia, drug withdrawal, and Parkinson's disease.
Vanadium: An essential trace mineral that helps to regulate the circulatory system, prevent
excessive cholesterol deposits in blood vessels and cholesterol buildup in the central nervous
system.
6
Boron: Involved in several important physiological processes, including macro mineral metabolism
and the regulation of both the hormones estrogen and testosterone. Studies have shown that memory,
mental alertness and brain function can be improved with boron. Some research shows that libido can be
improved with boron supplementation.
dl-phenylalanine: An amino acid essential for human nutrition since the body cannot produce
phenylalanineon its own. Phenylalanine has been used for depression, attention deficit hyperactivity
disorder (ADHD), Parkinson's Disease, chronic pain, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, alcohol withdrawal
symptoms, menstrual cramps, Vitiligo (a skin condition involving a loss of pigment). L-phenylalanine is
associated with nervous states and has anti-depressant properties. Phenylalanine is part of certain hormones
in the body which affect moods e.g., melanotropin and endorphins etc. Phenylalanine is used in different
biochemical processes to produce neurotransmitters, dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine.
Norepinephrine is believed to be in short supply in the brains of people who are depressed. L-phenylalanine
can also be converted (through a separate pathway) to phenylethylamine, a substance that occurs naturally
in the brain and appears to elevate mood. The D-form of phenylalanine cannot be converted to tyrosine, but
it can be converted to another compound called phenylethylamine which may have effects in elevating
mood, treating depression and altering pain sensation.
Germanium sesquioxide: Has been used to treat depression, arthritis, vision problems, elevated blood
pressure, heavy metal poisoning, and cancer, through immunopotentiating mechanisms, leading to
augmentation of natural killer cell activity. Studies have indicated that germanium sesquioxide aids the
bodys natural defenses against disease and aging, and boosts the immune system.
Nickel sulphate: Trace mineral considered essential to human health. Works synergistically with Vitamin
C. Iron deficiency anemia is often found in the presence of low nickel, and it is a well-known fact that Vit
C assists in iron absorption. Both - Vitamin C and nickel - can also be effective with cirrhosis of the liver
hypoadrenalism, or to improve insulin production.
