THE SEVEN CHURCH AGES AND THE
COMING OF CHRIST
The book of Revelation is a book in symbols and it takes the
Spirit to reveal what is contained therein. We thank God for
bringing fourth the Revelation of His word through his apostles.
The reader must be aware of the significance of the first three
chapters of the book of revelation to the gentile church. In them
is described the condition and characteristics of the seven
gentile churches once located in Asia minor. The discourse has
application as well to our day. Why? Because the first verse of
Rev. 1 describes it as “things which must shortly come to pass”.
Thus, the entire book is prophetic, beginning with the immediate
future and continuing through the gentile dispensation to the
calling of the 144,000 Jews, the millennium, the white throne
judgment and even the new Jerusalem.
These seven churches then were also prophetic and applied to
seven ages which would make up the whole dispensation allotted
by God to the gentiles. From Ephesus to Laodicea, each age had
an angel which would bring to it a message from God. The word
angel means messenger and it refers not only to heavenly
messengers but to earthly as well through whom “The spirit saith
to the churches”. Over the past thousand years, God has raised
up a succession of great spiritual leaders such as Paul, Iranaeus,
Martin, Columba, Luther, Wesley and Branham to preserve the
faith. Now, what is left is the translation. The messenger of Rev.
10:7 who would reveal the time element and mysteries concerning
the translation and second coming of the Lord has finished his
message. The Lord’s coming is at hand. The next event is the
translation of the saints and then the antichrist will take the
world through the worst war that has ever occurred.
You can escape the antichrist rule. You can be translated to be
with the Lord.
