Jamboree Rules

January 16th-18th 2010



Section 1: GENERAL JAMBOREE ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS:



1. General: This Jamboree is a sanctioned USA Hockey event and is designed for

recreational teams in the U8 classification. Entry fees are: $600 for D level, $500 for C

level, $475 for B/A level. All fees must be payable with a money order, Association

check or personal check. Entry fee must be paid in full and is nonrefundable once the

Jamboree Director accepts the team into the tournament.



1) Current USA Hockey rules shall apply, except as modified below.



2) Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 3 games.



3) Spectators will not be assessed a tournament fee entry.



4) Locker rooms will be designated for the home and visiting teams.



2. Sportsmanship: Foothills Hockey Association stresses sportsmanship. Fighting,

abusive behavior or unsportsmanlike conduct by players, coaches or parents WILL NOT

be tolerated on or off the ice. Such conduct will be grounds for disqualification from the

jamboree as determined by the jamboree director and/or the site director. Referees have

the authority to direct the removal of any player(s) acting in an objectionable and/or

unsafe manner on the ice. In addition, the game referees in conjunction with the

jamboree director have the authority to end any game at the time they feel that continuing

that game would endanger players or violate Foothills Hockey Associations stated policy

on sportsmanship. The jamboree director and the site director will determine the outcome

of any such game. Jamboree and/or site director reserve the right to remove anyone from

The Edge Ice Arena whose actions are detrimental to fair play and sportsmanship.



3. Participating Teams: All teams and players must be registered with USA Hockey.

Teams should bring Dark and Light colored jerseys for home and away purposes.



a. 4. Credentials: Team credentials will be checked during team check in 1

hour prior to your teams first game. Managers must present team

credentials. Teams not able to present team credentials may be asked to

forfeit their schedule until such credentials are presented for review by the

jamboree director, site director or assistant jamboree director.

5. Awards: Individual participation items will be given to the team managers at check in

for all participants.



6. Damage to Rinks and their facilities: The repair and replacement costs involved with

any damage done to any property at the ice arena will be the responsibility of the team(s)

of the individual(s) causing such damage. Immediate arrangements for restitution must

be made and violations of this rule are cause for removal from the jamboree. Each team

is responsible for the cleanliness of the locker room after use.



Section II: GENERAL JAMBOREE PLAY



1. Length of Games: Games in all divisions will be curfewed to one hour in length. D

level games will consist of 2-12 minute running clock periods followed by 1-12 minute

stop-clock period (curfewed to one hour). C/B/A level games will consist of 2-24 minute

running clock games within a one hour period. A buzzer will sound every 2 minutes for

line changes for the A/B/C level games. A 3 minute warm-up will be provided at the start

of each game for all divisions. In emergency cases involving weather, injury or other

extenuating circumstances, jamboree officials reserve the right to modify the schedule as

necessary. Including, but not limited to, shorter warm up periods and time between

periods. Modifying game times and length cannot be protested.



2. Tie Games: Games will be allowed to end in a tie. For ALL age divisions: game

scores will not be posted on the score board, nor will winners or losers be determined.



3. Hockey equipment: All teams must adhere to USA Hockey rules and regulations as it

pertains to individual players equipment. Players are required to wear both mouth and

neck guards during jamboree games.



4. Penalties: D level players will be sent to the penalty box as determined by the referees

call. C/B/A players will be sent to their bench and can be replaced by another player.



5. Protest: As the intent is to promote good sportsmanship and fun, no protest will be

accepted or considered.
