Catitude, Feline Advocates Inc.
Adoption Guidelines and Application
Who is Catitude, Feline Advocates, and why do they charge an adoption fee?
Catitude, Feline Advocates, is a small, registered non-profit, 501c3, humane organization dedicated to ending the
plight of homeless cats by finding permanent, loving, responsible homes. It is our goal to place as many
cats/kittens in loving homes as possible. So that we may be assured that the cat you wish to adopt is best suited
for your lifestyle, and is placed in an environment that is compatible with his/her needs, we ask that you complete
our application for adoption.
The adoption fees are needed to off set some of the medical expenses that each feline accrues. In most
instances, the adoption fee does not fully cover the cat’s vaccinations, spay/neutering, de-worming, or any
medical treatment given while in our care. We do not charge more because it is our belief that finding the feline a
permanent, loving, responsible, home is our most important responsibility to the animal.
How can I do more?
Catitude, Feline Advocates, is a small non-profit, 501c3, humane organization, which is dependent on your
donations. In order to find homes for more unwanted, homeless cats, your tax-deductible monetary donation is
needed. Please see a Catitude, representative today or mail your donation to:

When will applications be reviewed, and how will I be notified if I have been selected?
Applications are reviewed twice a week.
If your application has been approved, you will be notified in approximately two days. Calling Catitude, will
not expedite the process.
Applications are reviewed in the “best interest” of the cat. All decisions are final!
Applicants that have been determined not to be a match for one cat are not prevented from applying for
another. Catitude, representatives will be happy to help you find a match based on your lifestyle.
Catitude, Feline Advocates, performs adoptions, not sales, and in doing so reserves the right to refuse or
postpone any adoption.

If you are living with your parent(s), your parent(s) must authorize the adoption by speaking face to face with
a Catitude. Representative and by signing the adoption forms in person. Catitude requires original signatures
(no faxes).
You must be financially able to provide routine care for the feline, as well as any medical attention in the event
of serious illness or injury.
You must be willing to provide the name and addresses of a veterinarian that you use or have used in the
past. The vet will be called for verification.
NOTE: Adoptions performed on weekends or after hours are considered conditional pending vet reference. If
a veterinary reference cannot be obtained the next business day the animal must be returned at once.
Catitude reserves the right to reclaim any animal at any time.
It is the firm belief of Catitude Feline Advocates, Inc., that an animal that is too young to be spayed or
neutered is too young to be placed up for adoption. Therefore, Catitude Feline Advocates, Inc., will only offer
felines for adoption that have been surgically sterilized.
You must be willing to allow a Catitude, Feline Advocates, representative to make adoption follow-up calls
and/or visits to your home in order to determine if the adoption is working out and to offer advice if necessary.
A non-refundable adoption donation is required at the time of adoption. This fee is used to offset the
considerable costs incurred by Catitude, for vet exams, testing, and the care of felines prior to being offered
for adoption. The amount is subject to change, depending on the amount of costs incurred by Catitude on
behalf of the feline. You will be advised of the adoption fee and the amount may be considered a tax-
deductible, charitable donation to the extent allowable by Federal tax laws. Adoption donations are non-
refundable. You are not buying a pet!
You must have a secure pet taxi to take your new pet home. NO CARDBOARD BOXES!
