Directs the Transportation Cabinet to extend "The Purple Heart Trail" past Fort Knox and Fort Campbell.
Designates the following segments of highways as "The Purple Heart Trail": Interstate 265 from Interstate 64 in
Jefferson County to US Highway 31W; US Highway 31W from Interstate 265 to Wendell H. Ford Western
Kentucky Parkway; Wendell H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway from US Highway 31W to Pennyrile Parkway;
Pennyrile Parkway from Wendell H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway to US Highway 41A; US Highway 41A from
Pennyrile Parkway to the Kentucky/Tennessee state line; and every county traversed by the named routes.
The Transportation Cabinet provides the following:
There would be minimal fiscal impact to the Transportation Cabinet budget due to the cost of signage. The impact
can be absorbed in the existing Transportation Cabinet budget.
