Daisy to Daisy
The girls pair off into twos, with one person as the caller. The caller shouts out
different body parts that the partners must match by touching. They hold this position
until the next call. Example: The caller shouts “elbow to elbows.” The partners touch
each other’s elbows. The caller cries “ear to ear” and each girl drops her elbow and
touches an ear to her partner’s. When the caller shouts “Daisy to Daisy” everyone
runs to find another partner, and the calls start again. You may want to let the caller
run also, so that a new caller can be chosen.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:

 Describe the characteristics of Daisy Girl Scouts and their impact on programming.

 Utilize girl/adult planning in determining troop activities.

 Explain the Awards System at the Daisy Girl Scout level.

 Develop a balanced program with activities emphasizing the four program goals.

 Describe importance of safety and progression in Girl Scout activities.

 Identify bridging activities appropriate for the Daisy Girl Scout level.

Role of Daisy Girl Scout Leadership Team, Troop Committee, and
Families
See The Guide For Daisy Girl Scout Leaders, pages 32 to 35.

Patience and Time -- Daisies need lots of time.

 Time to do….If you do it for her, you rob her of the joy of creating and experiencing.

 Time to enjoy….Don’t rush needlessly from one activity to another.

 Time to grow….Let the girls enjoy Daisy Girl Scouts before pushing them on to

            Brownie Girl Scout age level.

Leadership is more a matter of judgment than of rules. No formula written on paper can
anticipate or solve each situation you will face. If it is too complicated, try something
simpler. If it fizzles, discard it and try something else. Above all, enjoy the Daisies. You’ll
have fun, and they’ll have fun with you!
