approximate, but best efforts will be made to keep to it. The Committee, however, reserves the

be accepted on production of membership and registration cards for the owner, rider and horse/pony.
Competitors who are unable to provide the necessary proof of membership will be required to
purchase a „ticket to ride‟ (£6 per horse/pony per class.) Competitors riding under the „ticket‟ will
receive no prize money or qualification should they be placed.

This show is affiliated to the Shire Horse Society. A Silver Spoon and Rosette will be awarded to
the Champion mare or filly eligible in classes subject to the Shire Horse Society conditions of
offer.

Classes maybe combined if there are less than catalogued entries.
This show is part of the Mobberley Members Champion Foal of the Year.
Points for this competition are 1st - 5, 2nd - 3 and 3rd - 1 points.

Special Prizes:
The Burrows Brothers Perpetual Challenge Cup will be awarded to the best animal in classes 1 - 5
The Warrington Horse and Motor Owners Association Perpetual Challenge Cup will be awarded to
the best gelding in Class 3.

IN-HAND SPORTS HORSE

This show is affiliated to SHB(GB). All entries in the following classes must be on the Basic Identity
Record or Stud Book. Please note the leader who enters the ring with the horse must remain
throughout the class. These classes will be run under SHB(GB) Sec 8 rules.

S.H.B.G.B (In The North West) – In - Hand Points Competition.
Hunter Breeding Classes and In-hand Sport Horse Classes at the show are included in the S.H.B.G.B
(In The North West) Points Competition. Points will be awarded to 1st - 4th places in each class.

Class 6        Yearling Potential Sports Horse
               Colt, filly of gelding foaled in the previous year.
Class 7        Two Year Old Potential Sports Horse
               Colt, filly of gelding foaled two years previously.

RIDDEN IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE CLASS

All exhibits must be registered or identified with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB).
Registration/Identification numbers to be CLEARLY stated on the entry form.

Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge
The Show is a Qualifier for the BLUE CHIP & IDHS(GB) £2,000 CHALLENGE. The Qualifier
from Classes will be the highest placed horse in each Class (not already qualified) that is registered or
eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Register, i.e. with a
minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding. The horse need not be registered to qualify but
MUST be on the IDHS(GB) registers by the time of the Championship, which will be held at the
IDHS(GB) Annual Breed Show on 14th September 2008 at the Lincolnshire Showground. NB: A
horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won,
placed in or entered. Each Qualifier will receive a rosette and £10 voucher from Blue Chip. IN THE
FINAL, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money plus a Trophy and Blue Chip rug, the
Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In
addition, the highest placed Pure Bred will receive a Trophy and £100 and the highest placed 15.2hh
and Under will receive a Trophy and £50.

Class 9        Ridden Irish Draught Pure Bred / Part Bred
               Open to mares, geldings and stallions, 4 years and over, registered or identified on the
               ID register. All Stallions must be in possession of current IDHS (GB) covering
               certificate book.
               This class will be split into two classes, if sufficient entries come forward on the day: -
               a. Irish Draught Horses.
               b. Irish Draught Sports Horses

Entry fees: Class 9    £14.00
Prizes: Class 9        1st - £30, 2nd - £20, 3rd - £15, 4th - £10

IN HAND IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE CLASSES

All exhibits must be registered or identified with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB).
Registration/Identification numbers to be stated CLEARLY on the entry form.

Class 10A is a qualifier for the Snowford GB Breeding Championship. The two highest placed
Mares with Foals at foot by a RID Stallion (or, if one or both have already qualified, the Mare(s)
next in line) will then go forward to the final at the IDHS(GB) Annual Breed Show at Lincoln on 13
&14th September 2008. Championship – First Prize £400, Reserve £200.

Class 10C is a qualifier for the NFU MUTUAL ID YOUNGSTOCK CHALLENGE. The two
highest placed pure breeds from each group, yearling (filly, colt or gelding), 2 year old (filly, colt or
gelding) and 3 year old (filly or gelding) identified on the grade 1 ID horse register (i.e. out if a
grade 1 mare (either RID, AID, or SID) and by a RID sire) or, if one or both have qualified then next
in line down to 3rd place only in each age group, will qualify for the final at the Annual IDHS (GB)
breed show. IN THE FINAL there will be three classes each awarding £150 to the first placed Semi-
Finalist, and £100 to the second placed Semi-Finalist. The two semi-finalist from each class going
forward to the Championship, where the Champion will receive £150, the reserve will receive £100.

Class 10A      Grade 1 Brood Mare (RID,AID,SID) with or without foal at foot or Grade 1
               Barren Mare (RID,AID,SID).
Class 10B      Foal – Foal out of mare from the above class eligible for the Grade 1 ID Register or
                      Grade 1 ID Sport Horse Register.

Class 10C      Irish Draught Pure Bred and Part Bred Youngstock – Yearling (filly, colt or
               gelding), 2 year old (filly, colt or gelding) & 3 year old (filly or gelding) out of a
               grade one mare (either RID, AID or SID) and by a RID sire are eligible to qualify for
               the Final to be held at the IDHS (GB) annual breed show.


Entry fees:    Classes 10A & 10C £12.00
               Class 10B - £10.00
Prizes:        Classes 10A & 10C 1st - £15, 2nd - £12, 3rd - £10.
               Class 10B 1st - £10, 2nd - £8.

Championship: Exhibits placed 1st & 2nd in classes 10A – 10C are eligible to go through to the
Championship.


RIDDEN SHOW HUNTER HORSE CLASSES

This show is affiliated to the Sport Horse Breeding (GB). Riders and owners must be members of
Sport Horse Breeding (GB) and all horses must be on the basic register of SHB (GB) for classes 11
and 12. Classes 12 – 15 are RIHS qualifiers (entries will include an RIHS levy of £7) and the first
two in each class will qualify. Classes 12-15 are National Hunter Supreme Championship (NHSCS)
qualifiers. The first three to qualify. Riders and owners must be members of SHB (GB) and all
horses must be on the 2008 SHB (GB) Show Hunter register.

This show is affiliated to Ponies Association (UK): Affiliation Number 008/AFF/5405
The Ponies (UK) Whittakers Lord Open Hunter of the Year Championship for classes 13 - 15.
Highest placed exhibit not already qualified within first 6 places will be issued with “Registration of
Qualification” Certificate in the ring.
The Brineton Small Hunter Championships for class 12, the highest placed exhibit not already
qualified within the first 6 places will be issued with “Registration of Qualification” Certificate in the
ring.
This show is affiliated to the NCPA affiliation no: 103/08 and is a qualifier for the NCPA Pony of the
Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in conjunction with the Pony
of the Year Show at Somerford Park, Congleton, Cheshire in September 2008. 1st & 2nd prizewinners
in class 11 will qualify and highest not qualified in the first 6 for Part Bred Welsh in appropriate
classes.

Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge
This show is a qualifier for the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. The highest placed
horse (not already qualified) in each of the following (class 11 - 15) will qualify for the Final of the
Blue Chip and IDHS (GB) championship, which will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show.
A Horse may only qualify for the final once, regardless of type or number of classes won, placed
in or entered.
Each Qualifier will receive a rosette and a voucher for £10 from Blue Chip. In the final the
champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money plus a Blue Chip Rug, the Reserve Champion will be
awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed pure
bred will receive a trophy and £100 each and the highest placed 15.2hh and under will receive a
Trophy and £50.

Special Prizes:
A special rosette will be awarded by the IDHS (GB) to the highest placed pure or part bred Irish
Draught Horse in Classes 11 and 12. Exhibits must be registered or identified with the IDHS (GB) on
either their Pure bred or Sport Horse register.
The Lord Daresbury Perpetual Challenge Cup will be awarded to the champion Hunter in the
Championship.

Class 11      Novice Hunter - NCPA Qualifier
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over not having awarded a first prize value of £50 or total
              of £200 in any ridden hunter class at home or abroad before 1st January in current
              year, excepting all prize money awarded as a four year old.
Class 12      Small Hunter Class
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, exceeding 148cms but not to exceed 158cms. Riders
              to have attained their 16th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
Class 13      Lightweight Hunter Class
              Sponsored by: COOLEQUESTRIAN
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, capable of carrying up to 12.7 stone.
              Riders to have attained their 16th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
Class 14      Middleweight Hunter Class
              Mare or gelding, 4years old and over, capable of carrying 12.7 stone but not 14 stone.
              Riders to have attained 16th birthday by 1st January in the current year.
Class 15      Heavyweight Hunter Class
              Mare or gelding 4 years and over and capable of carrying over 14 stone. Riders to
              have attained their 16th birthday by 1st January in the current year.


Championship:
The Horses placed first and second in Classes 12 - 15 are eligible to go forward to the
championship.

No entries on the day for classes 12 – 15.

BSPS HARRY HALL BEST RIDER
The Best Rider in each of the following classes at all Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider
Card and qualify for the Final at the Summer Championships Show:- Open Lead Rein, Open First
Ridden, Open 128cms, 138cms and 148cms Show Ponies, Open 122, 133, 143 & 153 SHP, Open
133, 143, & 153 WHP, Open Intermediate SRT, SH and WH Classes.

BSPS TRAVEL TRUST ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE
The show is a qualifier for the BSPS Challenge, the highest placed pony in the Lead Rein, First
Ridden, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, Open Show Pony, Open Show Hunter Pony, Cradle and Nursery
Stakes, Open Working Hunter Pony, The Open Intermediate SRT., SH and WH. And the Heritage
Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP classes, that has not qualified for the BSPS 2008
Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate classes will qualify.
If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the BSPS Challenge then the qualification will be
awarded the next eligible pony.

THE BSPS CHAMPIONS OF CHAMPIONS
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the Champion Mini Show Pony, the
Champion Mini WHP, the Champion Open SHP, and the Champion Heritage Mini, the Champion
Heritage Ridden, and the Champion Heritage WHP will qualify.

THE BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE
The show is a qualifier for the “BSPS Premier League”, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. placed ponies in the Lead
Rein and the First Ridden, 128cms, 138cms, 148cms. Show Pony, Lead Rein Hunter Type, 122cms,
133cms, 143cms and 153cms, Show Hunter Pony, Cradle and Nursery Stakes 133cms, 143cms and
153cms. Working Hunter Pony, Intermediate Show Riding Type, Show Hunter and Working Hunter
Classes and the Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Heritage Ridden Small, B & C`s and
Large Breeds and the Open Heritage WHP Classes.

This show is affiliated to the NCPA affiliation no: 103/08 and is a qualifier for the NCPA Pony of
the Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in conjunction with the
Pony of the Year Show at Somerford Park, Congleton, Cheshire in September 2008. 1 st & 2nd
prizewinners in class 11 will qualify and highest not qualified in the first 6 for Part Bred Welsh in
appropriate classes.

This show is affiliated to Ponies Association (UK) affiliation no: 008/AFF/5405.
This show qualifies for the PUK TIMBERWOLF Show Hunter Pony of the Year Championship for
classes 17-20. Highest placed exhibit not already qualified within in first 6 places will be issued with
“Registration of Qualification” Certificate in the ring.

Special Prizes:
The JC Naylor Perpetual Challenge Cup will be awarded to the Champion Pony in Classes 16-21.

Class 16      BSPS Mixed Height Novice Pony of Show Hunter Type
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, not exceeding 153cms. Riders MUST be the correct
              age for the height of the animal they ride. 1st to 4th qualify for the BSPS Summer
              Championship Show.
Class 17      BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained
              their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. The 1st and 2nd prizewinners
              of the class qualify for the BSPS Championship Show.
Class 18      BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, exceeding 122cms and not exceeding 133cms. Riders
              not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year. The 1st
              and 2nd prizewinners of the class qualify for the BSPS Championship Show.
Class 19      BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, exceeding 133cms but not exceeding 143cms. Riders
              not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st January in the current year. The 1st
              and 2nd prizewinners of the class qualify for the BSPS Championship Show.
Class 20      BSPS Open Pony of Show Hunter Type
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, exceeding 143cms but not exceeding 153cms. Riders
              not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1st January in the current year. The 1st
              and 2nd prizewinners of the class qualify for the BSPS Championship Show.
Class 21      BSPS Open Intermediate Show Hunter Type
              Mare or gelding 4 years or over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms. Riders
              not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year. The 1st,
              2nd and 3rd prizewinners of the class qualify for the BSPS Championship Show.

Championship:
The Ponies placed first and second in Classes 17 - 20 are eligible to go forward to the championship.
The Champion will qualify for the BSPS David Manning Champion of Champions.

Entry fees: Classes 16 - 21 £10.00
Prizes: Classes 16 – 21 1st - £12, 2nd - £10, 3rd – £8.00

Closing date for entries is the 7th May 2008

This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Best Rider of the Year.

BSPS HARRY HALL BEST RIDER
The Best Rider in each of the following classes at all Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider
Card and qualify for the Final at the Summer Championships Show:- Open Lead Rein, Open First
Ridden, Open 128, 138 and 148 Show Ponies, Open 122, 133, 143 & 153 SHP, Open Cradle Stakes
and Nursery Stakes, Open 133, 143, & 153 WHP, Open Intermediate SRT, SH and WH Classes.

This show is a qualifier for the Ponies (UK) 2008 Summer Championship Show (Affiliation
No:008/AFF/5405) to be held on the 13th – 16th August 2008 at The Newark and Notts Showground.
This show qualifies for the Colne WHP Championship for classes 23, 24 & 25. The highest placed
exhibit not already qualified within first 6 places will be issued with a “Registration of Qualification”
Certificate in the ring.

This show is affiliated to the NCPA affiliation no: 103/08 and is a qualifier for the NCPA Pony of
the Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in conjunction with the

defined in the current Member‟s Handbook. Open to SSA members and non-members.
This show is affiliated to the NCPA affiliation no: 103/08 and is a qualifier for the NCPA Pony of the
Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in conjunction with the Pony
of the Year Show at Somerford Park, Congleton, Cheshire in September 2008. 1st & 2nd prizewinners
in class 11 will qualify and highest not qualified in the first 6 for Part Bred Welsh in appropriate
classes.

Class 43       Side Saddle Concours D‟Elegance
               The sole criterion for the class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and
               rider. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. No individual show is required,
               but the judge may ask groups of three or four riders to give short displays. Two
               special rosettes will be awarded: to the highest placed adult rider wearing a silk hat,
               and to the highest placed adult rider wearing a bowler hat, provided they are members
               of the SSA. NB: Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults IN THIS CLASS
               ONLY, AT ANY TIME OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current BS Standards or
               above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Class 44       The SSA Equitation Championships Qualifying Classes
               Class 44a Adult Class
               Class 44b Junior Class
               Classes 44a and 44b are run under SSA rules defined in the current Members‟
               Handbook and are open to SSA members and non-members. Juniors must be aged
               under 16 on the 1st January of the current calendar year. Members carrying their
               Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior
              places and SSA Championship points. Side Saddle International offer a rosette to
              the Member judged to be the best turned out in the Adult Equitation Qualifying class.

Class 45      Side Saddle Riding Club Horse/ Pony Open Class
              Open to horses/ponies 4 years and over. Riders will be required to give a short show
              including a small jump, maximum 2‟ (61cms). The height may be adjusted during the
              course of the Class at the Judges discretion. The Class will be judged on the show, the
              manners of the horse/pony and its suitability for the rider. Conformation will not be
              considered. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior
              SSA members. Hats to current BS standards or above must be worn for this class.

Class 46       Side Saddle Costume Concours D‟Elegance
              The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony
              and rider, and the way of going of horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed
              inspection of the rider‟s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted.
              Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show required, but
              the judge may ask small groups of riders to give short displays. Two Special rosettes
              to the highest placed Adult and Junior members of SSA. Juniors must wear hats to
              current safety standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do
              so at their own risk

All riders when on showground must wear BS hats, and adults may change when they are in
the ring. All juniors are required to wear BS hats in the ring.
NOTE: In classes where it is permitted to wear silk hats and bowler hats and the rider decides
to do so, a Hat Waiver Form should be completed and returned with the entry form (see back
of entry form)

The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 29th, 30th and 31st August 2008. Shows held

BSJA AFFILIATED SHOW JUMPING COMPETITIONS
This Show is affiliated to the British Show Jumping Association, and all the jumping
events are held under BSJA Rules and Regulations.
Entries in classes 115 - 125 to be confined to registered horses/ponies to be ridden
by members in accordance with rule 77.
All competitors must wear correct riding clothes, and this must include protective
headgear to current BS and EU standards, and correct boots. Competitors must be
ready to enter the ring when the steward calls out their number, otherwise they
maybe disqualified.
When a standard has been reached, horses/ponies making more than a certain
number of faults maybe retired.

The Show is affiliated to the British Driving Society. Both the owner and driver of
turnouts must be members of that Society. The membership number must be quoted
on the entry form and the membership card produced in the ring. Non-members may
enter these classes but will not be eligible to qualify for the 2008 Osborne
Refrigerators BDS National Championships. Will exhibitors please ensure the
following information is given on the entry form: a. Name of the horses/ponies,
b. description of the vehicle, c. name of the driver.

Class 132 is a qualifier for the 2008 Osborne Refrigerators BDS National
Championships. The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the
British Driving Society and eligible as (a) single hackney-type (h) Single Registered
Mountain & Moorland (excluding purebred Registered Welsh) disregarding those
already qualified down to 6th place will qualify for the 2008 Semi-Finals.
Class 136 is a qualifier for the 2008 Osborne Refrigerators BDS National
Championships. The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the
British Driving Society and eligible as (q) Single turnout driven to an exercise
vehicle by a young driver aged 10-14 years (r ) Single turnout driven to an exercise
vehicle by a young driver aged 15-17 years disregarding those already qualified
down to 6th place will qualify for the 2008 Semi-Finals. The Championship will
immediately follow the Semi-Finals.

Special Prizes:
The British Driving Society will award rosettes for all entrants who complete the
show drive.

Exhibitors must assemble in the Main Attractions Arena at 9.30am to depart for
the road drive at 10.00am and final judging in Ring 8 is expected to be completed
by 2pm.

Class 132     Private Driving Class
              For horses/ponies any height, 4 years and over to be driven single, pair
              or tandem to a suitable vehicle, (Commercial vehicles and hackney
              show wagons are not permitted). This class will include a 7-mile road
              drive. Each turnout on the road drive must have a passenger or groom
            over 14 years of age.
            Section 1 – Pairs and Tandems
            Section 2 – Singles exceeding 13.2hh
            Section 3 – Singles not exceeding 13.2hh
            Section 4 – Singles, any height, hackney or hackney type
            Or if sufficient entries are forward, the Class will be divided (at the
            Judge‟s discretion) into two or three more sections. The Judge has the
            sole authority to transfer any animal from one section to another.

Class 133   Light Trade Turnout – Open
            For horses/ponies 4 years old or over to be shown in a trade vehicle.
            No goods to be carried.

Class 134   Pleasure Driving Class
            Pleasure Driving Classes are for newcomers to showing and not
            intended for those who show in private driving classes. Regular
            showing competitors are asked to respect this and entries for the
            pleasure driving class will not be accepted from those who enter our
            private driving classes. To be judged 15% vehicle suitability, fit and
            cleanliness; 15% Harness suitability, fit and cleanliness; 70% Driver
            and groom, horse/pony way of going and suitability as a family
            pleasure animal. Competitors may be required to drive and halt
            between two pairs of cones and execute a U-turn in their individual
            show. This class will be split into two sections
            Section 1 – Non pneumatics
            Section 2 - Pneumatics

Class 135   Junior Whip Class
            This class is to be judged on the ability of the driver only, not on the
            horse/turnout. Open to any vehicle. Junior Whips (under 18 yrs) must
            be accompanied at all times by an adult passenger or groom in the
            vehicle.

Class 136   Exercise Vehicle Class
            Singles or pairs, open to all showing competitors, driving a non-
            traditional vehicle that would be driven everyday for exercise.
            Pneumatic tyres are allowed. Lamps need not be carried. Showing
            class judged on the suitability of driver, vehicle, harness and horse –
            i.e. neat, tidy, workmanlike and safe.

Class 137   Style & Performance
            Open to all types of vehicle. Each turnout to be first inspected for
            cleanliness & correctness, then go forward individually for a three
            minutes stylish display which must include in any order:
            - a walk across the diagonal
            - approx. 20m circle at collected trot
            - extended trot across the diagonal
            The highest placed traditional turnout and the highest placed non-
            traditional turnout, that has not already done so, will qualify for the
            Supreme Championship at “Drivers Dream” in Bedfordshire on 23rd
               August 2008.

Class 142      Advanced Horse
               Any age, Mare, Gelding or Stallion. May include all movements (not
               open to Part Bred horses)
