Spring Football Meeting/Dates
Welcome back, it’s already that time. Hope you had a good offseason and now it’s time to get back. There is a
lot of new things happening to the school and our football program. I’m sure by now you have heard we have the new
campus so hopefully we will have a home field next year, we have a new all sports website (veritasprepathletics.org),
and some other new and exciting enhancements.
To kick the season of right we will have spring practice to start the new season. It will go from May 2 –May 20th
Monday thru Thursday 4pm – 5:30. We will conduct practice at Shea Middle School. Below will be the calendar of dates.
Spring ball will focus on fundamentals and getting new players and current players familiar with our offensive and
defensive system. CANCELLED!! NO SPRING FOOTBALL
Following spring ball we will take a week break for finals and for school to get done then we will start the
summer conditioning and strength program. This year we will be doing the camp at Veritas to keep costs down and so
we can focus on our needs. The summer camp is open to incoming 8th – 12th graders, and in certain cases 7th graders.
The dates for the summer camp will be 5/30/11 – to 7/29/11 Monday thru Thursday 7am – 9:30 am. We will have a
week of during the July 4th holiday which will be 7/4/11 – 7/7/11. The camp is a great training program designed to build
strength and speed. The cost will be $75 per person which will include a team shirt and shorts. You’re looking at $2 a
day. This is by far the cheapest and least expensive camp in the state. We will also have passing league games as well.
Next we have confirmed our fall football camp we will be going to Camp Tontozona in Payson where ASU has
gone for years. We will be going the dates on July 19th-22nd. Lodging, transportation, and food will all be included in the
price. I have the preliminary price, but still need to finalize some details but trust me this will is the cheapest camp and
well worth your money, I have taken my other teams up there in the past and it is a great value. I can tell you it is
cheaper than $200 per person. The camp is open to the high school program. It will be a fun time up in the cool pines of
Payson. We will really have a great opportunity to build our team and get ready for the upcoming season.
We will come back finish the summer condition and getting everything ready and handed out since practice will start the
following week.
Your participation in the upcoming season will be highly valued. To be prepared for the season and get the most out of
next year it is very encouraged to participate in this. We will be implementing a lot for the season, especially at fall
camp, so to be ready your presence will be very valued.
