Watch companies. Managed the electronic security functions, including the Marlok access control system,
CCTV and Intrusion Alarm systems.
Formulated security/safety policies and procedures to reduce theft and accidents.
Instrumental in development of Security/Safety manual, creating a uniform security program for
nationwide security staff.
Wrote and produced series of training videos, including: Theft Investigation, Accident Investigation

documents to embassies and consulates of the Netherlands throughout Western Europe, including NATO
Headquarters and the EEC in Brussels, Belgium. Position required high security clearance. Simultaneously
worked with the Netherlands Ministry of Interior in development of arrest techniques.
Lectured and taught American police techniques at numerous police agencies throughout the
Netherlands and Belgium.
Introduction of new arrest techniques had a significant impact in changing unsafe practices.

After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, joined the Sheriff’s Department. Served in
patrol/jail divisions and detective bureau. As homicide investigator, successfully investigated homicides and
other crimes of violence. Earned basic, intermediate and advanced certificates issued by the California
Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. Taught police science courses at Police Academy.
Together with the Dutch Federal Police and the Nederland-Amerika Foundation coordinated two
Criminal Justice Study Tours to the United States for high ranking police officials, judges,
prosecutors and mayors from the Netherlands. The purpose of the Criminal Justice Study Tours was
to facilitate knowledge sharing and information exchange with their counterparts in the U.S.
