Re: 2011 Australian Championships, selection of 2011
Australian Men’s Teams and decision that the 2011 Elite
Men’s World Championships will be a Qualification Event for
the 2012 Olympic Games.
Member Associations are asked to bring to the attention of their boxers that the 2011
Australian Championships will be held 3-6 March at the Reggio Calabria Club, Parkville
(Melbourne), Victoria , and that it will be the Selection Trials for the Australian Teams to the:
o 2011 Elite Men’s World Championships
o 2011 Junior Men’s World Championships
o 2011 Commonwealth Youth Championships
Further information will be provided prior to the Australian Championships regarding
selection of these Teams and the obligations of Team members.
Additionally, Elite Men boxers should be made aware by their Member Association that the
2011 Elite Men’s World Championships will be a Qualification Event for the 2012 Olympic
Games.
Elite Men and Women boxers should have drawn to their attention by their Member
Association the Qualification and Participation Criteria for the 2012 Olympic Games, a copy
of which accompanies this Memo.
The Qualification Event to the 2012 Olympic Games for Elite Women boxers will be the
2012 Elite Women’s World Championships.
Member Associations are reminded that they must undertake their selection of boxers for the
2011 Australian Championships in a fair, transparent and equitable manner in accordance
with BAI’s Competition Rules. END OF MEMO
