TPS engaged ENI in January 2005 to focus their educators on instruction that is directly correlated to state
standards by using ENI’s TargetTeach® process. ENI responded by providing deep curriculum alignments,
formative assessments, custom-built instructional materials, and professional development with teacher
coaching. During spring 2005, TPS started with an initial 12-week intervention in 25 TPS Title I schools;
23 of the 25 participating schools made their academic requirements for AYP. TPS subsequently expanded
TargetTeach® to every building in the district in fall 2005. As of Spring 2008, TPS was down from 37 to 11
school improvement buildings with six poised to come off in 2009. At that time, TPS was removed from
the district improvement list.
