University of Alabama Scholarships
To apply for scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year, complete the scholarship application online at www.mybama.ua.edu.
Click on the “Academics” tab and find the application under the Scholarship section. For scholarship consideration, both a
completed admissions application and a scholarship will need to be submitted by December 1.
College of Business at Indiana State University Scholarship
The Gongaware Center at ISU’s College of Business is offering a four-year scholarship in the amount of $30,000 in addition to a
laptop computer, a $3,000 personal development account, and direct involvement in a personalized leadership development plan.
Any interested senior must exhibit leadership experience and potential, earn a minimum GPA of 3.5, rank in the top 10% of their
class, and have a combined SAT score of at least 1500 out of 2400. If you meet the above criteria and are interested, applications
are available online at www.indstate.edu/gongaware and the deadline is December 1, 2011.
The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Program
The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Program will award up to $670,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors
across the country. Go to www.axa-achievement.com to learn more about the scholarship program and to download an
application. Apply by December 1, 2011.
The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation awards $2.296 million in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide through
its Most Valuable Student scholarship contest and 250 ENF Legacy Awards to children or grandchildren of Elk members.
Applications are available online at www.elks.org/enf/scholars and in the Guidance Office and must be submitted on or by
December 2, 2011. High schools seniors who are US citizens will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. They
may be dropped off at the Mt. Vernon Elks located at 4th and Walnut Tuesday through Saturday from 3-9 p.m. or mailed to them c/o

2011 SAE Engineering Scholarships
Students who intend to earn a degree in engineering should visit www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm for information. SAE is proud
to be able to offer more than 60 corporate- and university-sponsored scholarships in the study of engineering and related sciences,
including the University of Evansville. Applications must be postmarked by December 15, 2011.

2011 IHSAA/C. Eugene Cato Memorial Scholarship Award
Applications are available online at www.ihsaa.org for a one-time $2,500 scholarship for a student-athlete who is a positive role
model and has demonstrated excellence in academics, school and community involvement, character, sportsmanship, and
citizenship. From the applications that are submitted, one will be chosen by the scholarship committee to be the nominee for North

Burger King Scholars Program
The Burger King Scholars Program is offering $1,000, $5,000, $25,000, and $50,000 scholarships. Application period is Nov. 15,
2011 to Jan. 10, 2012. Students should apply at www.haveityourwayfoundation.org/burger_king_scholars_program.html.
The Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (IAHPERD) will award four $500 scholarships to
graduating high school seniors who plan to attend an Indiana college or university and major in health education, physical
education, recreation or dance education or sport administration at an Indiana college or university. The application must be
postmarked by January 15, 2012 and is available online at www.inahperd.org and in the Guidance Office.
Vincennes University Foundation
The Dorothy M. Walters Scholarship ($8,000/year) is available to an outstanding student majoring in Education. The Children of the
Alumni Scholarship ($1,000/year) is available to any major. Visit www.vinu.edu/foundation for applications and more information.

The Washington Crossing Foundation

Northern Illinois University Out-of-State Huskie Scholarship
The NIU Out-of-State Huskie Scholarship will be awarded to students from Wisconsin, Indiana, and Iowa who will be new incoming
undergraduate students in the fall of 2012. Applications are available online at
http://www.niu.edu/scholarships/out_of_state/index.shtml and are due by January 15, 2012. The scholarship is valued at $9,200 for
the 2012-13 academic year and $36,800 over four years at current tuition rates.
Western Kentucky University
There are several scholarships available to incoming freshmen who plan to attend Western Kentucky University. Access their web

POSEY COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
1. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program will award one applicant with a scholarship that covers four years of
undergraduate study at an accredited Indiana college or university and an allowance for required fees and books. The application
and submission instructions are available online at www.poseycommunityfoundation.org and are due by January 19, 2012. Please
read the submission instructions carefully. Eligibility requirements are as follows:
1. Be a resident of Indiana and be a resident of or attend high school in Posey County.
2. Be a graduate of an accredited Posey County or Indiana high school or academy by June 2012 and begin as a full-time
college student in the fall of 2012.
3. Demonstrate high academic achievement in completed course work with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0
scale). Have either a minimum SAT score of 1700 or a minimum ACT score of 25.
4. Have completed the college prep curriculum in high school upon graduation.
5. Demonstrate commitment to school activities, community service, and/or employment.
6. Be available for an interview with the scholarship committee if selected as a finalist.
2. The Community Scholarship Program is made up of several scholarship funds, each with individual selection criteria and
individual requirements. The application and submission instructions are available online at www.poseycommunityfoundation.org

Indiana State Elk’s Vocational Grants
The Indiana State Elk’s Association can award grants ranging in value between $575 and $1,000 to 12 males and 12 females who
are pursuing a two year or less vocational/technical program culminating in an associate degree, diploma, or certificate but less than
a baccalaureate program (bachelor’s degree). Applications are available in the Guidance and online at www.IndianaElks.org and
must be received no later than Friday, January 20, 2012. Applications may be dropped off at the Mt. Vernon Elks located at 4th and

2011-12 Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias of Indiana
Applications are available in the Guidance Office and online at www.knightsofpythiasofnewcastle.com . Applications must be
postmarked by January 25, 2012 and no handwritten applications will be accepted. Students must have a GPA of a B or above,
submit SAT or ACT results, and be registered in an accredited college or university with proof of registration prior to disbursement of
Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union Scholarships
ETFCU is offering ten $2000 scholarships to graduating seniors in 2012. To qualify, seniors must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 at
the end of the fall semester. Also, applicants or parents/guardians must have been members of ETFCU for at least one year prior to
February 1, 2012. Those seniors who meet the above criteria must submit their completed application (available in the
Guidance Office now and online at www.etfcu.org/scholarship) to Mrs. Lamble by January 22, 2012.
2011 KFC Colonel’s Scholars
Graduating seniors maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher planning to enroll in a public Indiana college or university who are
pursuing a bachelor’s degree should apply online at www.kfcscholars.org between December 1, 2011 and February 8, 2012.
Scholars may begin their college by entering either a 2- or 4-year accredited, public college or university within their state of legal
residence, as long as they stay on track to complete a bachelor’s degree program.
University of Dayton – Leadership in Service Scholarship
Any senior interested in attending the University of Dayton should see Mrs. Lamble by February 10, 2012. The Leadership in
Service Scholarship is worth $10,000 over four years, but you must be nominated. While the chosen student needs to meet UD’s
admissions standards, the scholarship does not need to be awarded based on GPA and test scores. They are looking for a student
who has an innate desire for personal development and is committed to service within his or her school, church, or community.
The National Co-Op Scholarship Program
Students with a GPA of 3.5 or better should submit the application and essay online by visiting
www.co-op.edu by February 15, 2012. To be eligible for one of these scholarships, students must attend one of the following
NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities: Drexel Univ., Johnson & Wales Univ., Kettering Univ., Rochester Institute of Technology,
Univ. of Cincinnati, Univ. of Toledo, or Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Hoosier Horsepower Essay Contest
The Indiana Corn Marketing Council (ICMC) and the Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA), in conjunction with the Indianapolis Colts,
have created the Hoosier Horsepower Essay Contest. Indiana High School seniors can enter the contest and win cash prizes to
help fund their college education. Colts tight end Dallas Clark will once again serve as spokesperson for the program. On behalf of
Indiana’s corn and soybean farmers, the Colts will donate $100 to the program for each catch Clark makes this season. Clark has
thirteen (13) receptions entering Sunday’s game against Kansas City. Four (4) Indiana high school seniors will each receive $2,000
to help defer college education related expenses. To be eligible for the essay competition, applicants must be a high school senior
in Indiana and plan to enroll in an accredited college or university within the United States pursuing either an associate or bachelor
degree for the 2012-2013 school year. Essay competition winners will be awarded based on a combination of factors. Academic
achievement, leadership and community service will be considered in addition to their essay detailing how today’s farmers are
working to tackle tomorrow’s needs for food, fiber and fuel. All essays must be postmarked no later than Friday, February 17, 2012.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program annually awards roughly 20 college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary
leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 total per recipient. For more

Kyle L. Parker Memorial Scholarship
The Kyle L. Parker Memorial Scholarship will award a $4,000 one time scholarship for post-secondary education. Applicants must
meet the following criteria: resident of Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, Gibson, or Henderson County; be a graduating senior planning
to attend a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2012; demonstrate a commitment to community service and provide
documentation of the service; and at least one parent or legal guardian must be deceased – evidence may be requested.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be received no later than Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012.
2012 WIN Energy REMC Scholarship
Applications for this scholarship are available in the Guidance Office and online at www.winenergyremc.com and are due by March
1, 2012. Qualifications include parents/legal guardians must be WIN Energy REMC members; applicant must be a 2012 graduating
senior and have a cumulative GPA of a C or higher; provide a current high school transcript; and recipient must be able to enroll as
a full time student in the fall of 2012.
USI Alumni Association Leadership Award
Any senior planning to attend USI should apply for this $1,500 award if you can show extensive leadership qualities and be in the
upper 20% of your class. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be received by March 9, 2012.
The American Legion Family Scholarship
Applications are available online at http://www.indlegion.org/?page_id=550 for children and grandchildren of current paid members
of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of The American Legion; and the children and grandchildren of
members who are deceased and who, at the time of death, were current paid members of the above organizations. Application
deadline is April 1, 2012.
IU 21st Century Scholarship Covenant Program – Indiana University Bloomington’s 21st Century Scholarship Covenant Program,
offered to 21st Century Scholars, can help bridge the gap between debt and degree. To learn more, visit
US Bank Internet Scholarship Program
This is available to high school seniors and college undergraduates. Forty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in a random

Purdue Promise Program
A student must meet the following requirements: Be a resident of Indiana and a Twenty-first Century Scholar in good standing as
confirmed by Indiana’s Twenty-first Century Scholars central office; Be an incoming freshman who will start his/her Purdue career
for the first time in fall 2012 and come from a family with a combined family income of $40,000 or less per year; and Agree to

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution
The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including
history, law, nursing, and education. The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of
race, religion, sex or national origin. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years
of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. The only exception is the American Indian Scholarship that
