EDUCATION: (Please attach all required education documents with application; i.e., diploma, degrees, certificates, etc.)
[ ] Associate’s degree (A.A.) or two years specialized experience and/or training in law enforcement, or equivalent combination
Education and experience in supervision at the patrol sergeant level. (Attach documentation with application)
[ ] High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. (Attach documentation with application)
[ ] Graduated from either a State or Federal Academy. (Attach documentation with application)
[ ] Currently certified as a Police officer in Washington State. (Attach documentation with application)
[ ] Current certification in CPR and First Aid. If applicant does not meet this requirement the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services
will allow 7 weeks from date of hire to complete as condition of employment. (Attach documentation with application)

SKILLS:
[ ] Candidate must be computer literate and the ability to learn new computer programs.
[ ] Candidate must have excellent communications skills both oral and written.
[ ] Candidate must be able to write concise and accurate reports, review and correct or direct corrections of police reports.
[ ] Candidate must have knowledge or be willing to learn about and become part of the CALEA Recognition/Accreditation for
law enforcement agencies.
[ ] Candidate must have knowledge or learn about traditions and culture of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe and other Native
American Tribes.
[ ] Candidate must have skill and knowledge in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure and time tables.
[ ] Candidate must have knowledge of Tribal, Federal and State laws including RCW and Criminal Jurisdiction in Indian Country.
EXPERIENCE:
[ ] Minimum of two (2) years experience working as first line supervisor or patrol sergeant supervisor..
[ ] Minimum of three (3) years working experience utilizing interviewing and interrogation techniques.
[ ] Minimum of five (5) years working experience writing concise and accurate reports and performing basic patrol
officers duties.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
[ ] Candidate must adhere to the direction provided in the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services Policy and Procedures Manual.
[ ] Candidate must possess a valid Washington State Drivers license
[ ] Candidate must not have been arrested for, or convicted of, any crime of violence of which any disposition exists
except not guilty.
[ ] Candidate must not have been convicted of any felony crime.
[ ] Candidate may have minor traffic infractions provided they are not numerous. (Attach DMV documentation with

[ ] Candidate must advise of any drug use during lifetime, whether arrested or not, may attest that they no longer use or sponsor
the use of drugs.

[ ] Candidate must pass a criminal background investigation, national agency check of their finger prints,
WASIC, and NCIC records.
[ ] Candidate will be required to pass a psychological evaluation by police services appointed psychologist and polygraph test.
[ ] Candidate must submit a medical examination form, clearing applicant for participation in physical fitness.
[ ] Candidate must have the ability to pass the academy physical provided by a medical doctor.
Physical Characteristics and/or Prerequisites:
[ ] Manual and finger dexterity for the operation of a personal computer, routine paperwork, and issued equipment.
[ ] Strength to lift objects weighing 100 lbs. on a occasional basis and 40 lbs. on a frequent basis.
[ ] Stamina to sit, stand, walk, and/or run for prolonged periods of time.
[ ] Mobility to bend and/or stoop on a regular basis.
[ ] Mobility to climb stairs on a occasional basis.
[ ] Tolerance and patience to deal with upset, angry, frustrated, and/or intoxicated persons.
Job Summary: Patrols the exterior boundaries of the reservation, prevent crime, and enforce Tribal, State, and Federal Laws. Make
arrest, investigate reports, serve search warrants, criminal summons, traffic citations, and required legal reports. Take statements and conduct
interviews with witnesses, suspects, and defendants. Participate in community service-crime prevention and elder and youth programs.
Provides support and backup to County, City, State, and Tribal Officers as well as Tribal Gaming Agents and other tribal programs while
operating within Tribal, Federal and State law in accordance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services policy and procedure manual.
Specific Duties Performed:
1. Supervises and patrols all tribal residential areas, business locations, roadways, and tribal administration buildings, assists Chief of
Police in making recommendations to update the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services policy and procedure manual to meet the continuing
changes of the police department for the safety and security of Snoqualmie Tribal community members and assets.
2. Enforces traffic codes, writes citations, civil infractions, arrest intoxicated drivers, and conducts traffic education programs reservation
wide. Responsible for the operations of the shifts including, scheduling, training, corrective action or recommendations regarding
discipline.
3. Supervises and investigates drug abuse activities, arrest violators, serves search warrants upon a showing of probable cause to the
Snoqualmie Tribal Court on drug dealers, sellers, and users.
4. Operates patrol video camera, video evidence cameras, and police service video cameras monitoring tribal buildings while maintaining
chain of custody for video evidence
5. Provides First Aid and EMS response, CPR, and natural disaster response during emergency conditions
6. Arrest criminal violators, writes criminal investigative reports, search warrants, arrest warrants, prepare probable cause statements,
patrol log entries, and prepares other required reports on the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services computer system.
7. Provides mutual aid, in accordance with the policy, supporting County, State, Federal, and other Tribal Enforcement Agencies within
the guidelines of Tribal Codes
8. Testifies in Tribal, Federal, and State Courts and acts as a bailiff during tribal hearings.
9. Transports prisoners to and from court appearances, during arrest and bookings, and to court directed appointments
10. Maintains assigned patrol vehicle, ensuring maintenance is completed daily, keeping vehicle clean and professional in appearance, and
operating according to state traffic codes.
11. Qualify quarterly with all defensive equipment, including firearms, chemical agents, baton, handcuffs, and restraining devices.
12. Qualify or participate in a physical fitness test program every six months.
13. Collects criminal evidence, maintaining the chain of custody following guidelines of the rules evidence, preserving and gathering
according to Federal Rules of evidence and the Washington State Crime Lab standards
14. Follows all guidelines contained in the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services Policy and Procedure manual.
15. Performs all other job duties deemed necessary or requested by the Chief of Police.
16. Responsible for ensuring patrol officers receive adequate training as required by established standards.
17. Participate in planning and organizing the NWTEMC program.
18. Responsible for and guides casino or other Tribal business operations during emergencies up to and including evacuation, closure, and
reopening facilities in cooperation with the Snoqualmie Tribal Safety officer and Tribal Emergency management department.
19. Must be able to monitor activity of prisoners in temporary holding jail/facility.
20. Exercise discretion in a manner consistent with the Snoqualmie Tribal Police Services policy and procedure manual.
21. Candidate must be certified or be willing to obtain certification as a Field Training Officer (FTO) program.
22. Work in cooperation with Snoqualmie Casino Tribal Gaming Agents, Security and Surveillance personnel
23. Ensure workplace safety
24. Attend and provide security as requested for Snoqualmie Council sessions.
25. Dispatch and direct emergency personnel, consider call priority, availability and the number and types of personnel needed.
Terms of Employment: This is a Regular Full-time position, requiring at least 40 hours per work, or 2080 hours per year.
Pay Range: DOE.
