Miracles

Miracles

What is a miracle?

• An extraordinary act of God that goes

beyond ordinary or “natural”

processes.

Miracles

Key periods of miracles in Scripture:

• Ministry of Elijah and Elisha

• Ministry of Jesus

Miracles

II. Miracles Authenticate Christ’s

Miracles

“If I do not do the works of My Father, do

not believe Me; but if I do them, though

you do not believe Me, believe the works,

so that you may know and understand that

the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.”

John 10:37-38

Miracles

Therefore many other signs Jesus also

performed in the presence of the disciples,

which are not written in this book; but

these have been written so that you may

believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of

God; and that believing you may have life

in His name.

John 20:30-31

Miracles

Now when John, while imprisoned, heard

of the works of Christ, he sent word by his

disciples and said to Him, “Are You the

Expected One, or shall we look for

someone else?”

Miracles

Jesus answered and said to them, “Go

and report to John what you hear and see:

the blind receive sight and the lame walk,

the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear,

the dead are raised up, and the poor have

the gospel preached to them. “And

blessed is he who does not take offense at

Me.”

Matthew 11:2-6

Miracles

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened

And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

Then the lame will leap like a deer, And

the tongue of the mute will shout for joy.

For waters will break forth in the

wilderness, And streams in the Arabah.

Isaiah 35:5-6

Miracles

“For false Christs and false prophets will

arise and will show great signs and

wonders, so as to mislead, if possible,

even the elect.”

Matthew 24:24
