Parent-Teacher Interviews 13 April, 2011
Parent-Teacher interviews will be conducted for all students from 3:30pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday 13 April,
Interviews will be of 10 minutes duration.
For these interviews we are introducing a new internet-based booking system called Parent Teacher On-Line
(PTO). It will save time for parents, staff and students. . If you don’t have an email address, contact the school by
phoning 4976 6130 so that we can enter your details for you.
Using this system you will be able to book the interview times that suit you best from any internet-connected
1. Please access the system as follows:
Go to the school’s home page www.gladstonshs.eq.edu.au
Click the PTO icon as shown here …
2. At the PTO login screen, click “Register for use” and enter the security code Sharks, your name and
email address, and then click “Send registration”.
By doing so you are consenting to your information being stored in PTO and being used for the purpose
of interview bookings.
3. An email containing your login PIN will be sent to the email address you provided.
You may need to check your junk mail folder as genuine email messages can sometimes be incorrectly classified
as junk mail.
4. After you have received the email with your login details, click “Login” on the PTO login screen and enter your
surname and PIN as shown in the email.
5. Enter the Student ID of the student for whom you wish to book interviews. You can enter more than one ID if
you have multiple students at the school. Students should know their own student IDs (it is on their timetables
and is 10 digits followed by a letter).
If your child does not have their EQ ID number, please email Reports@gladstonshs.eq.edu.au
The classes for each student are listed to check that you have entered the ID correctly, and to help distinguish
between siblings etc.
6. You have the option to enter the name of your child/children instead of using the ID numbers. By doing so you
are consenting to the student’s name being stored and used in PTO for interview bookings. You do not have to
enter the name of the student(s) but doing so will help you when making bookings and will also assist teachers
more readily in knowing who they are seeing for each interview.
7. After you have entered your student ID(s) and optional name(s), proceed to make bookings as instructed on
If you have any questions or concerns about security or privacy of information stored in PTO please visit
Full instructions are provided to you after log in. Please note the following points:
When you log on, the system displays only your own child/children. Bookings are made for individual
parents/guardians, not for couples. Couples can however log on to the system simultaneously to
coordinate bookings. If two parents/guardians wish to attend a single interview timeslot, one
parent/guardian should make the booking then both can attend.
You will only see time slots which are available at the time you are using the system. As time slots are
booked for teachers, those timeslots are no longer displayed as available. PTO prevents double-booking
of teachers or parents/guardians.
When you have made all the bookings you require, you can print or write out a copy of your bookings in
time order. You can log in and change bookings any time up to 8am on the day of the interviews
If you see this symbol displayed along side the class name, it means this teacher recommends that
you book an interview.
Other parents may be making bookings at the same time that you are using the system. It is possible,
though unlikely, that a timeslot is displayed to you as available, but is then booked by another parent
shortly afterwards. If you then attempt to book this timeslot it will not be available and a message will
be displayed to indicate this.
If you encounter any problems using PTO please notify the school office, preferably via email at
I am sure the system will be of benefit to the students, parents and the staff. Any feedback regarding this new
process from you will be most welcome.
