PARISHIONERS INVITED TO HELP LOCAL PREGNANT WOMAN IN NEED: The Mater Ecclesiae Pro-Life Apostolate

has been providing emotional and spiritual support to a young pregnant woman, Chanelle, who, despite many challenges,

has chosen life. With her baby boy due in August, our parish’s Pro-Life group is planning a baby shower to help provide

some of the necessities for the new baby. Parishioners are invited to drop off an unwrapped gift for the baby boy by

September 3 in the Saint Martha Room. Diapers are especially welcome. Additionally, several larger items (new or

gently used) are needed, including a crib, high chair, and a baby carrier. (She already has a bassinet and a car seat.) To

donate a large item or for more information, call Tracye at 856-770-8488.

What Does the Church Teach Us About Marriage and Family?

There is a new program starting for fathers and mothers to study the Church’s teachings on marriage and family. There will

be brief information sessions after the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Masses on Sunday, August 27th. For more information or to register

for the group by phone, please call Julie at 609-561-4992.

The August Pro-Life Meeting has been rescheduled for August 24, 2006.

We are forming our new Convert (RCIA) Class for the Fall 2006 Session. The class is for converts and anyone who would like a

refresher course in the Catholic Faith. If you are interested in attending these classes, please call the Rectory Office, 856-753-3408.

THANK YOU

The Celebration Our Lady’s Assumption into Heaven at the Cathedral was absolutely magnificent! We cannot put into

words the beauty of that day. We thank Almighty God, the Blessed Mother, all the Music donors and Ad patrons

whose generosity made this Mass possible, Dr. Timothy McDonnell, Nicholas Beck, the musicians and singers, Fr.

James Bartoloma, Mr. Edward Heffernan, Fr. John Zuhlsdorf, the attending priests, Fr. Michael Mannion and the

Cathedral Staff, the Knights of Columbus, the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre, The Blessed Imelda Society,

and the Altar Servers. An undertaking of this magnitude requires months of planning and depends on the cooperation

and coordination of so many different volunteers who work tirelessly to make this Mass of Thanksgiving a success.

Thank you to everyone who gave of their time and volunteered in any way to help us. We give special thanks to our

Head Sacristan Bob Parker, Sacristan John Rotundi, assistants Albert Collins, Brad Kelly, and Anthony Mantoan;

Altar Server Coordinator Marty Howlett and the set up team; our ushers Paul Boland, Ed Spooner, Dave O’Kane, John

Leahy, Lou DiLoreto, John Symons and Michael Graziano; our greeters Barbara Coscarello and Mary Spooner; Saveria

Symons, Kelly and Kevin Myers for our special preview edition of the Mater Ecclesiae Newsletter and Website; Mark

Cavallo and Kirk Earney for providing security at the Cathedral; Jennifer Meredith, D. A. Freiberg, Edie Consoli and

the Mother’s Auxiliary; Carol McHale, Blessed Imelda Coordinator; Viola Iuliucci; florist; Office staff Lucille DiLalo

and Cheryl Hughes, who still have piles of Assumption paperwork ahead of them, and Barbara Rodio, our Parish

Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator, who each year designs our Program Booklet. This was a truly awesome

celebration of the Assumption. May our lives reflect the sheer beauty and intensity of that magnificent Mass. Let us

all proclaim the greatness of the Lord!
