Brandon Aguinaga FB – 81 OS – 68 CH – 74 2012
Brandon is a strong athlete with a big build. He has good arm side run on his fastball. On his off-speed he
needs to stay on top and not get around it to create a sharper and later break on it. His change-up is a
little hard and needs to be developed if he is going to have success at the college level. Considering
Brandon’s size, he has a lot of possible up-side that he will achieve with hard work in the coming year.
Derek Benner FB – 73 OS – 51 CH – n/a 2012
Derek is a good high school player, but needs to develop better arm strength to play at the college level.
This can be achieved by long toss, increasing body strength by lifting and making sure to keep his weight
on the balls of his feet throughout his delivery. His curveball is very loopy and has a good break, but if
he can learn to throw it harder it will have better action and break sharper and later. If Derek continues
to work hard he has the potential to be a good college baseball player.
Blake Brauning FB – 76 OS – 69 CH – 71 2013
Blake is a good high school player, but as a junior has time to get stronger and grow to become a great
baseball player. He needs to increase his arm strength which will come as he matures into a senior, but
can be increased by making sure to long toss as much as possible. His change-up was too hard and by
loosening the grip along with throwing it with the same arm speed as his fastball will help to increase it’s
effectiveness. He throws a hard breaking ball, which tells me that his arm has potential to throw hard,
but just needs maturation.
Jeremy Brinegar FB – 77 OS – 58 CH – 58 2013
Jeremy has good life to his fastball and should continue to build arm strength. He is a young junior so, he
will definitely mature in the coming year and it will only help his velocity. He needs to work hard on
developing his off-speed, both his curveball and change-up. Once he gets consistent with his off-speed’s
action and location he will be a great high school baseball player, with great potential to improve as a
college baseball player.
Timothy Brown II FB – 65 OS – 51 CH – 61 2014
Timothy is very young, which leaves room to greatly improve and mature into a great player. On the
mound he is very stiff and should work on his flexibility in both his lower and upper half. This will help
limit injury and increase arm speed on his pitches. He also should make sure to keep working with the
grip of his change-up to find a consistent pitch that can be his go to strikeout pitch. If he works hard he
should turn into a fine ball player.
Steven Calhoun FB – 77 OS – 70 CH – n/a 2013
Steven is a good pitcher and has a dominating tight slider. He is young and with another year of hard
work will increase his velocity on his fastball, although if he pitches with “intent to throw hard” and
releases his lower back on his follow through it will speed the process along. By adapting those
suggestions he will throw harder and have a “strike-out” slider, which will elevate his game to the
college level. If he works hard and matures, while developing a change-up, his future is bright.
Johnny Crawford FB – 83 OS – 68 CH – 67 2013
Johnny has great potential to play at a high collegiate level, considering the fact that he is only a junior.
The biggest issue with Johnny during his performance was his control. This is the result of an
inconsistent release point. Throwing more and more will help with his muscle memory and can further
increase his chance of success at the next level. Both of his off-speed pitches have good action, but again
lack consistency. As he grows and matures, while working on his release point Johnny has a chance to be
a really special player.
Alex Dillon FB – 88 OS – 68 CH – n/a 2012
Alex is a great pitcher with a chance to move on to a high collegiate level with his arm. He has good arm
speed and a live arm. He stays down in the zone which creates really good arm side run on his fastball.
His slider has tight spin and when kept down has plus action. If Alex continues to work hard and focus on
his pitching he has tremendous up-side. To elevate his game even more he can work on developing a
change-up to add to his arsenal.
Tanner Dovsek FB – 75 OS – 64 CH – 67 2012
Tanner is a good high school baseball player and if he works on increasing his arm strength he can be a
good college baseball player. As he develops arm strength he can work he should find a consistent
release point out front with your off-speed. On the pitches where he released the ball out front they had
really good action. With a firm dedication to fixing his mechanical issues and developing better arm
strength Tanner has a bright future.
Joe Drago FB – 69 OS – 54 CH – 59 2012
Joe is a crafty lefty. To compensate for his lack of velocity he does have good off-speed. His curveball is
loopy, having a large break. To help get Joe to the college level to pitch he needs to throw his curveball
harder creating a later action, while also lifting and becoming stronger as a whole.
Ryan Fox FB – 74 OS – 69 CH – 62 2014
Ryan is a young talented athlete with a lot of up-side. His velocity is low at the moment, but will rise as
his body matures. The value of Ryan off the mound lies in his off-speed. He throws a really good change-
up with late drop to it. His slider is more like a cut, but has enough late break to fool hitters. If Ryan
relies on his off-speed while his arm strength increases, he will have a lot of success at the next level.
Billy Foster FB – 76 OS – 65 CH – 67 2012
Billy has potential to be a good college pitcher. As a lefty he does not need to throw as hard, but he still
needs to increase his arm strength to become more marketable to college coaches. One way he can
throw harder is also by changing his stride direction. He throws across his body a lot, so he should
practice taking all of the power he generates and driving through the catcher mitt. If he works on those
mechanical issues he has great potential at the next level.
Kyle Hartwick FB – 81 OS – 68 CH – 72 2012
Kyle is a good all around athlete and shows it in his pitching. He has a good arm which works well with
his body. His curveball has good, hard break. He throws a slider as well, but it mirrors the action of his
curveball. He should throw one out and keep the one that he can throw more consistently. As he
continues to develop that pitch it will only make him a better pitcher.
Jason Hertz FB – 79 OS – 67 CH – n/a 2012
Jason is a good high school baseball player. His fastball has good arm side run, although he should
increase his arm strength to make his pitching that much better. The curve he throws has good action,
but needs to throw it out front to create consistent movement. If he continues to work hard in the
weight room and on the field he will only get better and develop into a great college player.
Sean Hummer FB – 72 OS – 58 CH – n/a 2013
Sean has potential to be a great baseball player, especially since he is young. The biggest issue with Sean
is that he lacks consistency on the mound. It is very important to do as many dry reps as possible to
create muscle memory that will inevitably increase his consistency. His curveball is good, but if he can
learn to throw it harder it will greatly improve its action. Sean has the opportunity to be good college
baseball player as long as he works hard, while his body matures in the next year.
Cole Keeley FB – 79 OS – 71 CH – 72 2012
Cole is a big, strong athlete which is a strength, but a weakness on the mound. He is too tight to have a
long fluid arm action so he tends to short arm his pitches. He had really good action on his change-up
but was inconsistent hitting the strike zone. When he finds that consistency it will greatly improve his
chance to pitch a collegiate level. Cole’s slider can be a good pitch at times, but needs to stay on top of it
as opposed to coming around it throughout his delivery. If he can develop those two off speed pitches
he has a chance to be a good college pitcher.
Kyle Keller FB – 80 OS – 69 CH – 67 2014
Kyle has above average high school player and is very young, which means he is not even fully matured.
At this stage and his age, he is by far a top-end pitcher in his graduating class. His slider had good
movement, but lacks the downward action needed to miss bats. His change has good velocity, but also
lacks downward movement similar to his slider. If he can make sure to release the ball more out in front
of his body it will create that depth that he lacks. As he matures and continues to work hard, he should
be on a lot coach’s radar at the college level.
Steven Knight FB – 70 OS – 65 CH – 66 2014
Steven is very young, but has great potential to improve his pitching to a high level. As he matures, he
should focus on long toss to strengthen his arm further, while also improving his slider. He tends to
come around his slider which creates loose spin and little movement; to fix that he should focus on
staying on top of it through his delivery. On all of his pitches he throws with a straight arm, which
directly hurts his consistency of his release point. If he can learn to keep his arm bent throughout his
delivery, he will see significant overall improvement in his pitching.
Joe Krucke FB – 71 OS – 64 CH – n/a 2013
Joe is an average high school pitcher at the moment. Although, he is young, so he can easily improve
and pitch at the next level. He has good arm side run on his fastball, which will only get better as his arm
speed increase through hard work and maturing. His curveball has good break, but can be improved by
working on making it break later. I feel that with working on the listed tips that Joe can be a great
pitcher.
Colton Lopez FB – 77 OS – n/a CH – 66 2014
Colton is a good high school pitcher and he is only a sophomore. Considering the fact that he is so
young, his body will likely mature a lot in the coming years. At the moment Colton is a good athlete,
which is displayed when he pitches. He has a good change that he throws for a strike, which is his go to
pitch, but it will only help to develop a breaking pitch. To help increase his velocity he should make sure
to keep his weight on the balls of his feet which will help maintain balance throughout his delivery
directly affecting the power he generates.
Nick Mazzone FB – 74 OS – 62 CH – 67 2013
Nick has good mechanics for a junior and when he works down in the zone has great stuff. His velocity is
a little low, but working on his arm strength he can increase it tremendously. Nick throws both a
curveball and a change-up. His change-up is his best pitch when he stays low in the zone. His curveball
has god action, but he tends to use his head to pull his body through his delivery. If he can learn to have
his arm lead instead and continue to get stronger he has the potential to be a good pitcher at the next
level.
Steven Moore FB – 78 OS – 65 CH – 71 2012
Steven lacks velocity in his fastball, but more than makes up for it with his off-speed. He can easily pitch
at the college level with his off-speed, but needs to make sure he increases his arm strength in the
coming year. His curve ball has late break on it with 12-6 movement. His change-up is at a good velocity
and has nice dive to it to make batters miss. If Steven works hard to stay driving through the catcher and
not falling to the side, it will also help increase his velocity and help him become a complete pitcher.
Blake Ordiway FB – 78 OS – 67 CH – n/a 2012
Blake is a good pitcher, but lacks a change-up which he will have to develop a little to pitch at the
college level. His slider has good late action and breaks both across and down. On all of his pitches his
front side becomes very lazy; by developing a strong front side it will help his consistency and velocity.
Blake should work hard in the weight room to become stronger and feel out a good change-up grip just
to start experimenting with it. Once he fixes the small mechanical issues and develops a change-up he
can be a really good pitcher.
Nick Paul FB – 79 OS – 70 CH – 68 2012
Nick has some great pitch-ability, but tends to come around all of his pitches. In doing so, it is next to
impossible to get on top of his pitches to create downward action. If he can stay through and release the
ball out front and not spin off it will be an easy fix. Both his curveball and change-up have good action,
but will only get better when the mechanical issues are corrected. Nick is close to breaking through to
being a great pitcher and with hard work I am sure that he will accomplish that feat.
Dylan Pierce FB – 82 OS – 70 CH – 65 2012
Dylan has above average pitching skill. He throws his fastball with good velocity and it has great arm side
run to it. His off-speed is more of a slurve and is at its best when thrown down in the zone. The biggest
improvement he can make in his pitching is to work on further developing his change-up. The first thing
that will drastically improve his change-up is to throw it with the same arm speed as his fastball. The
change-up is meant to be thrown hard and by doing so actually slows it down with a loose grip. Dylan
has a lot of potential to be a great college pitcher.
Brandan Ross FB – 78 OS – 69 CH – n/a 2013
Brandan is a young pitcher with the ability to pitch at the college level. I have seen him pitch other times
and his velocity was down a little at our camp. Brandan throws with a very tense arm action. If he can
learn to relax he will have better arm action and less soreness after he throws. He should also develop a
change-up which will help his success greatly. If he works hard he has the potential to be a quality left-
handed pitcher.
Scott Sebald FB – 82 OS – n/a CH – 78 2012
Scot is an above average high school pitcher. His velocity is good for a left-handed pitcher, but it would
not hurt to work on increasing his arm strength even more by long toss and weight lifting. He has a very
long arm action when he throws, on both his fastball and change-up. The one crucial development that
Scott should work on is his off-speed. He did not show a breaking pitch and when he threw his change-
up it was a little too hard. Scott should work on mastering both of those pitches and if he succeeds he
has the potential to be a great college pitcher.
Matt Smith FB – 80 OS – 69 CH – 72 2012
Matt is a quality left-handed pitcher. For a lefty, he throws with average velocity that has good arm side
run on it. Although, his strength lies in his curveball, which has late and hard break that makes hitters
miss. He showed a change-up, but it lacks the flash of his curveball. If he continues to gain arm strength
while working with the feel of his change-up he will be a very successful pitcher.
Zachary Smith FB – 83 OS – 71 CH – n/a 2012
Zachary has some great potential off the mound. He throws his fastball with good velocity and it has
some arm side run on it. He did not show a change-up, but he showed a slider. His slider has really sharp
break on it. It breaks late, but if he threw it a little harder its action would be even better. As long as
Zachary continues to work on developing his change-up he will become a great pitcher at the next level.
Cody Wallace FB – 79 OS – n/a CH – 68 2013
Cody is a good high school pitcher. As a lefty, he has good arm action with average velocity. His fastball
has good arm side run and increasing his arm strength would make it even more effective. Cody also has
a great change-up with good movement to keep batters on their toes. Although, he is an incomplete
pitcher due to the fact that he did not show a breaking pitch. If Cody can develop a slider or curveball in
the next year it would greatly affect his success in pitching and elevate him to the next level.
Logan Webb FB – 77 OS – 64 CH – 70 2013
As a junior, Logan’s velocity is a little low. He should work hard in the next year to increase his velocity
by weight lifting and long toss. Logan’s forte is his slider; when he stays low in the zone his slider has
really good action. The arm side run on his fastball helps overcome his lack of velocity. If Logan can
consistently throw strikes with his off-speed and increase his arm strength he will greatly increase his
marketability to college coaches.
Chris Williams FB – 79 OS – 62 CH – 68 2012
Chris is an average to above average high school pitcher. He lacks mostly in his velocity of his fastball,
which can help by making sure to use his lower half throughout his delivery. At the moment he is
throwing almost all arm which is lowering his velocity. His curveball has good break to it, but it needs to
break later and look more like a fastball when it come out of his hand. Chris’s best pitch is his change-up
and with increasing his velocity he could become a fine college pitcher.
Nathan Burton FB – 79 OS – 66 CH – n/a 2012
Nathan has all the tools to be a good player, but has some mechanical skills that are holding him back
from achieving his best. His front side flies open pulling the rest of his body off his power line to the
catcher. He showed a strong slider that had some really good action. Although, similar to his fastball he
does not throw it for a strike consistently, which is due to the previously mention mechanical issue. He
did not show a change-up and I feel that that is also limiting his success as a pitcher. If Nathan can fix
those mechanical issues and become more consistent he has a chance to be a good college pitcher.
Logan Heffernan FB – 80 OS – 65 CH – 71 2013
Logan is a young, but good high school pitcher. As a junior his velocity is good, considering how much he
will mature in the coming year. Although, his fastball is straight; he should work with finger pressure to
gain some movement. Logan throws both a slider and a curve, but they look very similar. He should
throw one out and focus solely on improving the one that is more consistent, which from what we saw
should be his curveball. His change-up lacked movement like his fastball and if he can feel around for a
better grip it will only improve its action.
David Calderon FB – 83 OS – 71 CH – 60 2014
David is a very young and very talented pitcher. His ability to throw in the low 80’s as a sophomore is a
good indication that he will only gain velocity in the coming years. His fastball also had great arm side
run. He threw both a slider and curve, but like many other young pitchers they are very similar. He
should pick one and stick with it developing it into a deadly pitch. He threw a knuckleball as a change-up,
which can sometimes be seen as giving up throwing a hard fastball. David should continue to work hard
in the weight room and long toss to further increase his velocity, while developing one of his breaking
pitches. He will be a great college pitcher if he continues down the path e is on.
