Meeting called to order at 4:35 PM
Approval of Meeting Minutes:
Annette Gray was not in attendance, so minutes will be sent electronically to
be approved. Jamie will take minutes for today’s meeting.
Principal’s Report: Robin Wiltison
Talked about PTA Page on school website. We will have an officer roster and
email addresses posted, as well as a PTA President message. There will be
from time to time PTA events and announcements on site.
Discussed putting Bylaws and Budget online, too
Stress the need for volunteer speakers for Higher Education Day (Nov 9th) to
discuss college alma mater and the importance of school, etc…
Talked about MAG (Maryland Assessment Group) Conference [Nov 14 -16th];
membership and housing fees, etc.
Robin will talk with Dottie regarding table cloth for PTA.
Treasurer’s Report: Sheila Mudd
Budget approval for Back-to-School night will be sent home reference to BY
Laws on the website and a pitch for membership in the PTA. Form needs to
be sent to Robin.
Report was given out regarding teachers and class participation in PTA
membership.
Financial report was passed out with deposit and disbursements.
Discussed family membership vs. individual membership; concluded we will
keep envelopes the same and understand that PTA membership is by family.
President’s Report: Kristen Ruiz
Discussed Back-to-School Night; video setup with Mrs. Jeffrey’s in WMLK
studio.
Need membership envelopes by Monday. Set day and time with Jamie and
Sheila to complete forms. (Friday afternoon)
Kristen will coordinate with Annette to send By Laws to Robin to be put online.
All correspondence to Robin for the website will be sent through Kristen.
Meeting minutes will need to be available within one week after meeting.
Vice President’s Report: Jamie Antoine
Talked about Book Fair procedures and seminar for middle school book fairs
which is held in September. Chairpersons needed to organize volunteers only.
Will get in touch with Media Specialist Mrs. Gadsden for logistics.
Prepare poster for PTA table in the multipurpose room @ 6:30 pm (Meet &
Greet)
Ways & Means: Greg Kittlesen and Loraine Aldridge
Greg received fundraiser package from Giovanni’s and they will chose
between Joe Corbi and Giovanni’s for the fall fundraiser.
