LLB REGISTRATION 2011
All students are expected to register online.
The information in this brochure is applicable to all 2nd-, 3rd- and 4th year LLB students who wish to register
for 2011. All students (except those transferring from other universities or faculties) are expected to
register online. Only in exceptional cases should students register in person at the Law Faculty’s
administration office.
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
Registration for modules that result in class-, test- or examination time table clashes are not
allowed. (See documents included).
We recommend that you do not take more than 8 modules per semester. You may however, in
extraordinary instances, register for a maximum of 10 modules per semester. Permission must be
granted by the Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Law if you want to register for more
than 10 modules.
LLB finalists will get a chance to decide for which three elective modules they want to register, but
the final registration date for these modules is 18 February. No changes will be possible
thereafter. Registration for elective modules will be done by mrs Malan in the Student

2. SCHEDULE FOR REGISTRATION:
Please note that these information sessions should only be attended if you were unable to register
online.
The registration schedule will be followed very strictly and students will not be accommodated
outside of the specified registration times. No personnel will be available for enquiries at the student
administration office during the periods listed below.

3. TRANSFERRING STUDENTS FROM OTHER UNIVERSITIES
Students transferring from other universities to the Faculty of Law should attend the information
session as mentioned in par. 2: Transferring students. Please note that the information session
starts at 8:00 sharp.
The Heads of Department and the administrative personnel will be available on this day to assist
you with accreditation of modules and module choices. A curriculum of the subjects passed
must be presented to the Heads of Department/ administrative personnel.
An academic record with code of conduct of the previous university must be submitted to the
administration officer of the Faculty of Law before registration can take place.
4. TRANSFERRING STUDENTS FROM BCOM LAW OR BA LAW
Students transferring from BA Law or BCom Law to the Faculty of Law should attend the information
session as mentioned in par. 2: Transferring students BA Law/BCom Law. Please note that the
information session starts at 8:00 sharp.
The administrative personnel will be available on this day to assist you with accreditation of modules
and module choices.
Tick off on the attached LLB academic profile form all the modules already passed in order to
determine the modules which you have to register for this year. Bring this form along when you
come to register.
Very important: You must first register for all outstanding first-, second and third year LLB-modules
before you may register for fourth year modules.
Write the modules for 2011 on the registration form before reporting at the registration venue.
Registration for modules that result in class-, test- or examination time table clashes are not

We recommend that you do not take more than 8 modules per semester. You may, however, in

You have to be registered for at least two years for the LLB before the degree may be conferred on
you.
Please note that students who are admitted to a new study programme have to complete a
new contract before registration can take place. Contract forms are available at the Student
Administration office.
5. OTHER INFORMATION
Yearbooks and timetable books will be available at the Student Administration office.
Lists of textbooks will be supplied by the appropriate lecturers at the commencement of lectures.
Information about class fees is available at Student Accounts (telephone number 012 420 3111).

Dit word van alle studente verwag om aanlyn te registreer.
Die inligting in hierdie brosjure het betrekking op alle voorgraadse 2de-, 3de- en 4de jaar LLB-studente wat
vir 2011 wil registreer. Dit word van alle studente (behalwe oorskakelaars vanaf ander universiteite of
fakulteite) verwag om aanlyn te registreer. Slegs in uitsonderlike gevalle sal studente toegelaat word om
in persoon by die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid se administrasiekantoor te registreer.
4. ALGEMENE INLIGTING
U mag nie vir modules registreer waar daar enige lesing-, toets- of eksamenroosterbotsings met
ander modules bestaan nie. (sien ingeslote dokumente).
Ons beveel aan dat u nie vir meer as 8 modules per semester registreer nie. U mag in
uitsonderlike gevalle vir ‘n maksimum van 10 modules per semester registreer. Toestemming
moet van die Studentesakekomitee van die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid verkry word as u vir meer
as 10 modules wil registreer.
LLB-finaliste kry kans om te besluit vir watter 3 keusemodules hulle wil registreer, maar die finale
datum vir registrasie is 18 Februarie. Geen verandering sal daarna aanvaar word nie. Registrasie
van die keusemodules vind plaas by mev Malan in die studenteadministrasiekantoor. Vir enige

5. REGISTRASIESKEDULE
Neem asb kennis dat die volgende inligtingsessies slegs bygewoon mag word indien u probleme
met aanlynregistrasie ondervind het.
Daar sal streng volgens die registrasieskedule gehou word en geen student sal buite sy/haar
gespesifiseerde tyd geregistreer word nie. Geen personeel sal tydens die tydperk by die
studenteadministrasie-kantoor beskikbaar wees vir navrae nie.

6. OORSKAKELAARS VANAF ANDER UNIVERSITEITE
Studente wat oorskakel vanaf ander Universiteite na die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid moet die
inligtingsessie bywoon soos by punt 2: Oorskakelaars, aangedui. Neem asb kennis dat die
inligtingsessie stiptelik om 8:00 begin.
Die Departementshoofde/ administrasiepersoneel sal u op hierdie dag behulpsaam wees met
module-erkennings en –keuses. Die leergang/e van die vak/ke geslaag moet aan die
Departementshoof/de /administrasiepersoneel oorhandig word.
‘n Akademiese rekord met gedragsertifikaat van die vorige universiteit moet ingehandig word by
die administrasiebeampte voordat u mag registreer.
4. OORSKAKELAARS VANAF BCOM REGTE OF BA REGTE
Studente wat oorskakel vanaf BA Regte of BCom Regte na die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid moet die
inligtingsessie bywoon soos by punt 2: Oorskakelaars BA Regte/BCom Regte, aangedui. Neem
asb kennis dat die inligtingsessie stiptelik om 8:00 begin.
Die administrasiepersoneel sal u op hierdie dag behulpsaam wees met module-erkennings en -
keuses.
Merk op die aangehegte LLB-akademiese profielvorm die modules wat u reeds geslaag het, sodat u
kan bepaal vir watter modules u vanjaar moet registreer. Bring hierdie vorm saam wanneer u kom
registreer.
Baie belangrik: U moet eers vir alle ontbrekende eerste-, tweede- en derdejaar LLB-modules
registreer, alvorens u vir vierdejaar modules mag registreer.
Vul die modules vir 2011 op u registrasievorm in, voordat u aanmeld vir registrasie.

U moet vir ten minste 2 jaar vir die LLB-graad geregistreer wees, voordat die graad aan u toegeken
mag word.
Neem asb kennis dat studente wat aanvaar is vir ‘n nuwe studie-rigting, ‘n nuwe kontrak
moet voltooi alvorens registrasie sal kan plaasvind. Kontrakvorms is by die Studente-
administrasiekantoor beskikbaar.
5. ANDER INLIGTING
Jaar- en roosterboeke is beskikbaar by die Studenteadministrasie-kantoor.
Handboeklyste word tydens die eerste lesing deur die dosente beskikbaar gestel.
Inligting in verband met klasgelde kan verkry word by die afdeling Studenterekeninge by tel. nr. 012
420 3111.
