A short description of what information you will find in this report.
General Information.
I will be performing a thorough report of the book “Darkly Dreaming Dexter” by Jeff Lindsay. I will be going
through several key aspects of the book. Later you can find a scheme, where I put the book up against the
series, which are currently running late on TV3 in weekdays. At the end, I will point out the most important
things to remember if you choose to read the book, followed by watching the series. I will mainly put my
focus on the first season of Dexter.
Characterization.

Short description of key characters.
Characters:
Dexter Morgan: The main character of the movie. Working as a blood splatter pattern analyst for the
Miami Metro Police Department, but also holds a dark secret. He’s also a serial killer.
Deborah Morgan: Dexter’s sister. Working undercover as a hooker, for the Miami Metro Police
Department.
Rita Bennett: Currently Dexter’s girlfriend. Working mom with two children; Cody & Astor.
Harry: Dexter’s adoptive father. Taught Dexter “The Code of Harry”.
Brian: Dexter’s brother. Not seen till the end of the episode. Brian is the “Ice Truck Killer”
La Guerta: Currently the Chief of Inspection at Miami Metro Police Department.
Sgt. Doakes: A high ranked officer at Miami Metro Police Department. Doakes can’t stand Dexter.
