“Trace Missing Items”
Check Out Missing Item
Handling an Item That Is Missing
The “Trace Missing Items” function is used when an item displays as “Available” but cannot be
found.
1. Select “Trace Missing Items.”
2. Enter the librarian’s or patron’s barcode number.
NOTE: This is the number of the user who will be notified on login, when the item is found.
NOTE: This number will display when a patron attempts a checkout.
3. Enter the item number of the missing item.
OR
Press PF2 to search for the item number.
Press Y at the prompt “Is this the correct record?” when you have located the item number.
Enter the barcode and press ENTER.
The status of the item in the online catalog will automatically change to “Missing/Being
Traced.”
