   What Is A Hurricane?

 A hurricane is a
  tropical storm .
  Hurricanes are formed
  in Southern Atlantic,
  Caribbean Sea, Gulf of
  Mexico and in the
  eastern Pacific water.
 Evaporation from the
  sea water increases
  their power.
                The “ Eye”
 Hurricanes rotate in a counter
    clock wise direction around an
    “eye”.
 The eye of the hurricane is the
center of it that passes directly
    over-head. The center of the
hurricane is known as the eye
because the winds blow in a
    large spiral around a relative
calm center or eye. The eye is
generally 20 to 30 miles wide
    and the storm may extend
    outward up to 400 miles.
     Places Where Hurricanes
             Happen
 Places that hurricanes have
effected a lot in Miami, FL.
 Hurricane Katrina affected the
  coast of Louisiana, Mississippi,
  and Alabama.
 A lot of hurricanes happen in
  Miami because hurricanes are
formed in the Gulf of Mexico
and Miami is next to that.
            Be Prepared
 When a hurricane comes, people
are aware of the supply and the
food they will need and start to
prepare. People go in school
buildings or households to stay in
there if there home is not safe
enough.
They go to Home Depot to get
there supplies to protect there
houses or stores. They
buy wood, metal, and other
supplies that they think they need
to protect there house from
the hurricane. They put it on the
roof, windows, and other places.
                 Damage

 Hurricanes can create
    serious damages in
    places. Pieces of the
    homes and buildings
    are blown off from
    the winds. Grocery
    stores are flooded
    with water and with
    food inside. Trees are
    on the streets and
    cars are down.
Thank You!
