Statistics Test on Hypothesis Testing Test
1) Sloppy Research, Inc. is interested in whether the average blood alcohol
content of males was higher than females for people who were in accidents
where drivers were under 26 years old and there was alcohol and property
damage involved. Test this hypothesis at the .05 level of significance.

2) Last year Sloppy Research, Inc. reported that the average blood alcohol
content was 1.19 for drivers who were in accidents where drivers were under
26 years old and there was alcohol and property damageinvolved. Test at the
.05 level of significance whether a sample of 30 collected this year indicates
there has been a change in average blood alcohol content for this type of driver.

3) Sloppy Research, Inc. is interested in whether the average blood alcohol
content affects the number of people killed in accidents where drivers were
under 26 years old and there was alcohol and property damage involved.
To aid in this analysis, they made the following chart. Test at the .01 level
of significance whether blood alcohol content and number of people killed
are independent.

4) Sloppy Research, Inc. is interested in whether the average blood alcohol
content differs for people of different ages for people who were in accidents
where drivers were under 26 years old and there was alcohol and property
damage involved. Treatment ages of 15-17, 18-20, and 21-25 were chosen.
Test at the .05 level of significance whether these treatment come from
populations with equal average blood alcohol content.

5) The state legislature hired Sloppy Research, Inc. to studied the affects of alcohol
counseling on the number of traffic incidents happening to chronic alcohol abusers.
The number of traffic incidents occurring during the 5 years prior to the counseling
was compared to the number of incidents after the counseling. Test at the .01
of significance whether the number of incidents went down.

6) Sloppy Research, Inc. is interested in the strength in the arithmetic
relationship between average blood alcohol content and property damage
for accidents where drivers were under 26 years old and there was
alcohol and property damage involved.
If there is a relationship, they are interested in the variability in property
damaged explained by blood alcohol content. They would also like to
predict the expected property damage for an accident in which the blood
alcohol content was 1.2.

5) Sloppy Research, Inc. is interested in determining how much more
of the variability in property damage can be explained by adding age
to the correlation study of the last question. Was the additional informational
worth the effort? Explain.
