MAUI JIM® SUNGLASSES LAUNCHES
UNIVERSAL FIT EYEWEAR AT TFWA ASIA PACIFIC
Four styles of premium quality Maui Jim® Sunglasses designed specifically to suit
wider face shapes have been released just in time for launch at TFWA Asia
Pacific travel retail and duty free exhibition in Singapore this May.
The ‘universal fit’ range – Akoni, Hibiscus, Nunui and Maka - will cater to the
needs of those people who appreciate the style and performance of Maui Jim
sunwear, with its unique PolarisedPlus2® anti-glare technology, but who have
found in the past that the frame is too narrow or the bridge a little tight.
Maui Jim universal fit sunglasses are wider across the face and have a
decreased angle of curvature across the front so that they do not sit on the
cheeks as much. They have a built up nose bridge or nose pads so that the
frame sits further from the face and eyes providing a much more comfortable fit
and better visual acuity.
Giles Marks, Director Duty Free Sales, Maui Jim said, “We have found in the past
that many people of Asian or African origin love the fashionable Maui Jim styles
and are sold on their suitability for watersports and outdoor activities, but to enjoy
this technical excellence they are compromising on comfort. The new universal fit
styles have all the anti-glare features but are shaped to fit the slightly wider face.”
The „Akoni‟ (MJ117) is an aviator style with an 8-base metal frame and
patented PolarizedPlus2 SuperThin™ glass in prescription or standard
lenses in three lens colours: Maui Rose®, Neutral Grey, HCL® Bronze.
The „Hibiscus‟ (MJ134) in 8 base frame material made of grilamid with
PolarizedPlus2 ST glass, prescription or standard, in the three lens
colours and the universal bridge design.
‟Nunui‟ (MJ512) and „Maka‟ (MJ513) are the latest shield style with a
universal bridge and a single wraparound lens. The Nunui has a built up
nose pad area and the Maka has metal adjustable nose pads.
Helping Maui Jim to spread the “aloha” spirit in Singapore during the show will be
two beautiful Hawaiian dancers from Honolulu who will perform the hula on their
exhibition stand F9.
