UWS Wireless Network
Logging into the New Student Wireless Network using Windows XP.
Firstly, disable IPv6 in your network settings.
Connecting to the Student SSID for the first time:
Click on Wireless Networks icon at the bottom right of the screen
Select “Student”
Authentication will Fail
Select “Change order of Preferred Networks”
Select Properties
Select Association Tab:
Select: WPA2 and AES
Select Authentication Tab
Uncheck “Authenticate as Computer when Computer Information is Available”
Change EAP Type
Select EAP Type: Protected EAP (PEAP)
Select EAP Type Properties
Uncheck Validate Server Certificate.
Select Authentication Method:
Ensure “Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAPv2)” selected
Select Configure:
Uncheck “Automatically use my Windows Logon Credentials”.
Click on Bubble at wireless network Connection and enter Banner id and password with UWS-
Student as Domain.
You should now be connected to the UWS Student Network
Ensure the connection settings on the browser is configured with the “ Automatic proxy
configuration “ as below.
