Bearded Collies
Many thanks to all the exhibitors who travelled many miles to bring there dogs for me to assess.
On the whole I found the entry to be one of quality and I know the saying, I was spoiled for
choice, but in the majority of the classes, I found that I was spoiled for choice. Beardies are a
breed, as we know, that mature later, rather than sooner, you can’t rush maturity and these are
the dogs that will enjoy many years of good showing provided they are given time out to do so.
I found quite a few dogs with dirty teeth, not so many with level bites, one or two with a lighter
eye than is acceptable for their coat colour and when you are faced with a splitting hair’s
decision, overall presentation can tip the scale. I was thrilled to watch my BOB chosen as Group
3 and my BP to ultimately win Best Puppy in Show, many thanks to the Group Judge and BIS
Judge for appreciating the qualities of these two dogs.
MPD
1 Bendale Meant To Be, shapely dog with good flowing lines, good head and eye, nice neck and
shoulders, developing along the right lines for his age, moved out well.
2 Ravalonsky’s Elahad of Benfalcon, very similar to 1 in shape and so he should being half
brother, darker slate with good pigment and eye colour, good outline and moved well
3 Chyanully’s Sir Francis
PD
1 Orora’s Mercury, quite a stunning young man, has a wonderful outline with a level top line at
all times, and so balanced in head and body, in super coat and condition, wonderful front, length
of rib and loin ratio, good sound backend. It was a joy to see him move, a real eye catcher.BPIB
I had the great pleasure in watching him win the Puppy Group and Best Puppy in Show.
2 Bryonyhill Mr Ree, another mature looking lad, with many good qualities, moved well in
good condition.
3 B Meant To Be
Junior Dog
1 Malandex Xcatly Right for Kemelstowe brown lad that is going through the pale stage at
present, eye toning but has a good dark outer rim. Balanced head, good neck and shoulders,
correct rib and loin ratio with nice front and rear angulation, moved with positive strides.
2 Kittistone Sea Lord, again this lad is going through a pale stage and today I just proffered the
body proportions of 1, however I think things will change with him as he matures as he has all
the essentials.
3 Holtend Bay City Bowler
Novice Dog
1 O Mercury
2 B Mr Ree
3 B Meant To Be
Graduate Dog, not much between all the dogs in this class, all had their own qualities.
1 Alistair’s Hope and Glory for Malandex, dark slate boy with one of the best under jaws I saw
today, he has a super head and neck that sat just right into his shoulders, super deep front and rib
cage, correct length to height ratio. Moved like a dream with no effort, not in his best suit today
but when he has his adult coat I’m sure he will trouble the best.
2 Potterdale Star Audition for Pepperjay, I have admired this lad since he was 6 months, today
not as settled as 1. He has such a kind eye and expression, good scissor bite, firm neck into good
angulated shoulders correct body proportions, moved well, a splitting hair’s decision
3 Potterdale Pursuit
Post Grad Dog
1 Pepperwood Atticus, dark slate with matching eyes, can be a little erratic in his movement at
times but settles to show his good reaching front movement and drive from the rear. I liked his
flowing outline, in very good muscular condition although I would prefer a little more weight,
good in head, coat in good harsh in texture for his colour.
2 Blumbleridge Naughty ‘N’ Nice, I thought this boy to be a well made dog, nice depth in his
muzzle and scissor bite, broad flat scull, nice length of neck but has a wealth of coat around his
neck and I just preferred 1 in this area. Balanced in body, moved with little effort.
3 Barnswood New Venture
Limit Dog
1 Ramsgrove Ragthyme, just approaching 3yrs and not quite yet in his adult jacked. I loved his
super head and his shape when stood, moved with drive and forward reach, good depth of rib
and chest, strong loin, in fit condition. RCC
2 Claudalla Doctor Marigold, I have always admired this lad, he has one of those expressions
that just melts you. Good eye colour that tones with his coat and his coat is in good harsh
condition, firm well muscled neck, and good depth and body proportions, just carrying a little
much weight that I thought effected his movement today.
3 Breaskea Allegro
Open Dog
1 Malandex Xcalibur, dark slate plainly marked, who is I feel at his best. He appeals for his
super shape from the onset and when he moves there is so much power with minimum effort.
Dark eyes that give a true expression, balanced head, firm muscular neck that sits right into
correct shoulders, deep chest, correct rib and firm loin, very good angulation, good tail set and
croup and his coat and muscular condition is super, he is a credit to his owner. It was a great
pleasure to award him his 2nd CC & BOB and G3.
2 Potterdale Pisces, slightly smaller overall than 1, but a dog with many positive points, overall
shape is very pleasing with an appealing head and expression, in a very good harsh close fitting
coat, moved well but I think he would have gone better outside.
3 Atherleigh Ruff Diamond
Minor Puppy Bitch
1 Breaksea Bewitched, a sweet baby at her first show, such an eye catching outline and very
much balanced stood and moving. Eye toning with coat colour correct pigment, sweet
expression, super front, reaching movement and a good tail set.
2 Itani Marie Antoinette, nicely made puppy with good rib and loin proportions at this stage,
sweet expression if not a little mischievous, moved ok but will get better as she settles.
3 Braymoray Isle of Gigha
Puppy Bitch
1 Bryonyhill Miss Tickle, I was quite taken with this slate girl, very balanced head with a true
melting expression, good neck and shoulders, correct length of upper arm, deep rib and short
loin, length of back coming from ribs, good rear angulation, moved so well. In first class coat
and condition
2 Ramsgrove Lizzie Lentil, a dark slate girl with the darkest eye and pigment, very honest
puppy, super length of neck and good front, not carrying any excess weight but was firm over
her back and in her loin, moved with flowing strides
3 Navillus Moonlight Shadow
Junior Bitch
1 Malandex Xquisitly Made JW, very pretty bitch with a good out line, coat in super condition
as was her muscle tone, super length, neck flowing into correct shoulders, deep long rib and
short strong loin with good angulation that showed in her super movement.
2 Nellbrook Wynter Mischief, darker slate going through the teen stage. Coat not at its best but
is harsh what is there, good head and eye colour, good shape through out, could have moved
with more enthusiasm.
Novice Bitch
1 B Miss Tickle
2 N Moonlight Shadow, a puppy that will mature into a very good adult, slower in maturity at
present but has a good dark eye and pigment, everything together, moved very well.
3 Bendale Shady Lady
Graduate Bitch
1 Natterjack Serenity, a bitch that scored over 2 being that little bit longer in body, coat on the
change but was a good texture, balanced head, shapely outline, well angulated, good tail set and
croup, short loin, very together on the move.
2 Menander Macy Grey, in first class coat and condition, has a melting expression and a super
temperament, very good in front, deep rib and short firm loin, super in outline moving and
stood.
3 Breaksea Paint it Black for Karmeliann
Post Grad Bitch
1 Menander BMI Baby, a bitch that has glamour in excess, very pretty head with dark eyes and
pigment, well muscled right through, correct rib, loin and angulation, just floats round the ring
with minimum effort. Short strong hocks and correctly carried tail
2 Potterdale Superlative at Orora, this young lady was not at all happy with the surroundings,
dark slate with matching eye colour and pigment, coming into nice coat of harsh texture, her
outline fills the eye, correct proportions, moved ok, however has the ability to go better which I
have seen before. Mother of my Best Puppy
3 Moonhill Dream on with Sengalas
Limit Bitch
1 Osmart Maid in Black by Sioux for Lochbarra JW, I have loved this bitch from the first time I
saw her and has matured into a super bitch. Has the darkest eye that completes an ultra feminine
head, lovely neck and shoulders, correct body proportions, in super harsh clean coat, moved
confidently and correctly as her angulation suggests it should. I had the great pleasure of
awarding her the CC, her third, well done and deserved.
2 Sengalas Leading Lady for Roxilyn JW, another one of my favourite bitches, who again has
matured into a very glamorous girl. Nothing exaggerated here, I feel she is the best she has ever
been. Brown with dark eyes to mach, head of right balance, flowing lines from her neck into
shoulders and top line which she retained at all times, flowing movement, RCC
3 Moonhill’s Free’n’easy for Kemelstowe
Open Bitch
1 CH Nellbrook Mystification JW, plainly marked slate with movement and outline that is so
good. Dark eye’s and pigment, feminine through out, muscular neck of the correct length, super
front, good depth of chest and rib, firm top line, correctly carried tail. Worthy champion.
2 CH His’n’hers Diamond Lil JW SHCM, darker slate who’s outline was very similar to 1, just
proffered the softer expression of 1, still another girl who excels on the move as her construction
suggests, in mature coat and hard condition, balanced bitch.
3 CH Claudalla Lady Tippins
