DETERMINATION OF HUMAN TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR
ALPHA BY A SENSITIVE ENZYME IMMUNOASSAY.

Tumor necrosis factor alpha is an extremely potent peptide cytokine which serve as
an endogenous mediator of inflammatory ,immune and host defence functions.We
described a simple and sensitive enzyme linked immunosorbent assay for tumor
necrosis factor alpha in serum/plasma and cell culture media.The method is based on
the use of horse radish peroxidase in biotin streptoavidine amplification system with
a detection limit of 0.1 pg/ml and up to 10 pg/ml work of range.The within run
coefficient of variation ranged from 3.7 to 5.9 and between run from 8.0 to 9.9.
