Other Ideas:
1. Give extra Auction money to anyone wearing red, white or blue.
2. Wear red, white and/or blue to your party.
3. White Stuff Game: You need 6 midgets with a number on the bottom of
each container. Fill each container with white “stuff” like sugar, baking
powder, baking soda, corn starch, salt, flour, pancake mix, etc. Let them peek
and guess which is which. Reward with auction dollars or a gift to the one
that gets the most correct answers.
4. Make red, white or blue desserts. (i.e. Strawberry cake, Blueberry cobbler,
Tupperware dough, etc)
Cherry Chip Shakes
3 cups vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt
3 tbsp hot fudge topping
¼ cup miniature chocolate chips
4 maraschino cherries
Whipped topping and additional cherries as desired
In a blender, combine ice cream, fudge topping, chocolate chips and cherries. Cover and
process until blended. Pour into tall glasses and finish off with a scoop of whipped topping
and a cherry. Yield: 2 servings.
White Bean Turkey Chili
1½ lb ground turkey 1 tbsp chili powder
2 med. Onions chopped 1 tsp baking cocoa
1½ tsp dried oregano 2 bay leaves
1½ tsp ground cumin 1 tsp salt
1 can diced tomatoes, un-drained ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
3 cups beef broth 3 cans white kidney beans,
1 can (* oz.) tomato sauce rinsed and drained
In Dutch oven, cook the ground turkey and onions over medium heat until meat is no longer pink
then drain. Add oregano and cumin, cook and stir 1 minute longer. Stir in tomatoes, broth,
tomato sauce, chili powder, cocoa, bay leaves, salt and cinnamon.
Blueberry Crisp
4 cups blueberries 1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp water ¼ tsp salt
¾ cup flour ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar or packed brown sugar
Place the blueberries and water in a buttered Round Form. Mix the flour, sugar cinnamon
and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Spread over blueberries and bake at
350 for 35 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serve topped with whipped cream or ice
cream. Serves 6 to 8.
Blueberry Angel Dessert
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
1 carton (8 oz.) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 prepared angel food cake, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 cans blueberry pie filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy. Fold in
whipped topping and cake cubes. Spread evenly in an ungreased 13x9 pan and top with pie
filling. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
Frozen Strawberry Pie
2 pkgs (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
1 can (12 oz.) frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
2 pkgs (20 oz. each) frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 cartons (12 oz. each) frozen whipped topping, thawed
3 (10 in.) graham cracker piecrusts
Fresh strawberries and additional whipped topping optional
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in lemonade
concentrate. Mash berries and mix into cream cheese mixture. Fold in whipped topping
and spoon into crusts. Freeze until firm. Remove from freezer 10-15 minutes before
serving. Garnish with strawberries and whipped topping if desired.
Angel Food Trifle
1 Angel Food Cake baked
2 pkgs instant vanilla pudding (sugar free is great)
4 cups milk
Fresh strawberries, cut in ½ or ¼
12 oz Cool Whip
Mix milk and pudding, set aside. Break ½ of the angel food cake into bite size pieces and
place in Large Sheerly Elegant Bowl. Put ½ the pudding on the cake, then ½ the
strawberries and ½ the Cool Whip. Repeat the layers, refrigerate and enjoy. You could
add some blueberries or use both strawberries and blueberries for red/white/blue.
