TULSA, okla—Skeet Shooters from around the world will be
descending on Tulsa soon as the National Skeet Shooting Association
(NSSA) prepares for the 2010 International Skeet World
Championship to take place at Tulsa Gun Club October 15-17, 2010.
The event has attracted the best shotgun shooters in the world.
International Skeet is an Olympic clay target sport where a clay target
flies across a field at speeds up to 70 miles per hour. The competitor
must start with the shotgun just above their waist motionless until a
single or double clay target is released from the skeet house and
crosses the field. If the athlete breaks any part of the target as it
crosses the field its counts toward their score.
Tulsa is no stranger to hosting a World Skeet Competition. In 1938,
Southern Hills Country Club hosted the World Skeet Championship
and Tulsa Gun Club hosted the 2009 International Skeet World
Championship.
Confirmed to compete in Tulsa are members of the USA Shooting
Team from the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado
Springs. The USA Team is known around the globe as the best in the
World.

Jaiden Grinnell-- Two-time Washington State Champion, US National Team
Frank Thompson—2009 World Championship Team, US National Team
Amber English—2009 World Team Champion, US National Team
Wilford Blanchard— 2009 Jr. Olympic Champ, US National Development Team
Caitlyn Conner—2009 World Team Champion, US National Team
Vincent Hancock is a member of the elite United States Army Marksman Unit
based in Ft. Benning, Georgia. Dulohery is known as having the fastest gun
mount in the world and at age 45, has just retired from the US Army after 24 years
of service. Dulohery is the new Head Shotgun Coach at Lindenwood University.
Linenwood has won the Collegiate National Championship in Shotgun for the last
7 years in a row.
Jon Michael McGrath at age 18 is the youngest member of the United States
National Team. McGrath is also from Tulsa, Oklahoma where he just graduated
from Bishop Kelley High School. McGrath is currently a resident athlete at the
United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Haley Dunn is 24-years-old from Eddyville, Iowa and is a member of the Bass
Prostaff. She has a lengthy list of wins around the world including the 2007 gold
medal in the Pan American Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and the 2010 World
Cup Gold Medal in Lonato, Italy earlier this year.
Caitlin Connor (Winnfield, La.) is the 2009 Silver Medalist in the Minsk, Belarus
World Cup competition. The 20-year-old is a resident athlete at the United States
Olympic Training Center. ―I really look forward to coming to Tulsa.‖ said Caitlin
Connor. ―Even through our family is from Winnfield, Louisiana, my dad works
around the country with the Pipeliners Local Union 798 based in Tulsa.‖
The United States Team will be leaving soon for Munich, German to compete in
the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Shotgun Championship.

October 14, Pro-Am / Press Day
October 15, Preliminary Event 100 Targets + Doubles Competition
October 16, Main Event 125 Targets
October 17, Main Event 75 Targets + Match Final
The Pro-Am event on Thursday, October 14, 2009 will allow
local shooters to team up with a member of the USA Shooting
Team for a 50 target competition and experience the sport of
International Skeet. The price to participate is $100.
Registration is required and has only 55 spots left. For

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and Conservation
Shotgun Training and Education Program (STEP) will be at the
event on Saturday and Sunday to introduce attendees to the clay
target sports. The event is open to the public and admission is
free. It is required that attendees have safety glasses and hearing
protection to view the competition.
The Tulsa Gun Club has been in continuous operation since
1936. It’s located on 56th Street North, just west of Mingo Road.
