CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
BARCELONA V MAN UTD
The inevitable hype is everywhere and just for once the game is involving the champion
teams of the two foremost leagues in Europe.
Since both sides are renowned for scoring there is a massive expectation of goals, goals
and more goals. And no doubt, as so often is the case, an early success will soothe nerves
and allow the game to open out.
However, despite Ferguson’s proclamation that he expects this to be the greatest CL
match of all time, I have my doubts. Most certainly I do not expect the EPL side to open
up and indeed, I think they’ll attempt to close the game down far more than many expect.
In fact, it seems to me that Manchester’s best chance of winning the tie overall is to
frustrate the Spaniards and for that reason, I’d be of a mind to think that the readily
available 8/1 about a goalless 90 minutes is the value bet.
My overall view is that the most there’ll be is just a single goal in it and a bet on both
sides to win 1-0 (11/2 Barca; 8/1 Manchester) at 90 minutes provides for an 11/4 price
minimum.
