Sending a file by email or to another location
You can quickly send a file off by email or to a Floppy Disc by clicking the right
mouse button when you have a file icon selected and then clicking Send to. You can
add more items to the send to list (for example your CD drive, printer or fax machine
or a folder you often use) by:
Going into the Windows Folder - double click the My Computer Icon and then
double click C to find it
Open the Send to folder
Create shortcuts to the items you want to include (click your right mouse button,
select New, Shortcut and "browse" to it)
You could also create shortcuts on the Desktop before you open the Windows
folder and drag them into it (the easiest way is to select an icon, click your right
mouse button and select Create Shortcut
Creating Name Cards for the table - for those posh moments in life!
If you want to create name cards for table settings buy some attractive card - at
about 130 grms weight - then create the details:
In Word, go to the Tools menu and select the Envelope and Labels feature (if
you've got Office XP you use the Mailing Tools feature)
Select Envelopes and Labels and on the Labels page click Options and choose a
large size label (Business Cards works well)
Click New Document
A new Word Document appears with a label layout set to the required size
Border the labels so you have a cutting line - select the table in which the labels
are laid out - go just above the top line of the left label and when you see a small
black arrow pointing downwards, click the mouse - the drag right with the mouse
button still down to select the right side as well (the shortcut is Alt 5 - but you have
to use the 5 from the numerical keypad on the right of your machine)
Go to the Format Menu, Borders and Shading and select the Grid from the boxes
on the left
Type the first name and then tab into the next table cell - when you get to the end
of the first page clicking tab will start a new page for you
Print the detail, cut and fold
You could use perforated business cards, which you can buy it quite attractive
colours, but they may be a bit small!
Improving the performance of your PC
1
If your PCs suddenly started to run slowly it may need a "Defrag" - a file tidy up.
Find it in:
Start, Programs, System Tools, Disc Defragmenter - the tool can tell you if it's
worth running or not
A common problem is that if you have anything running in the background the
defrag keeps having to restart - to stop this happening before you go to Defrag,
either click Ctrl Alt Delete to see the Task Manager and shut down everything
except Explorer and Systray or you could start your computer in Safe Mode

The Last Word
A computer flashed a message to its user:
"I give up! I can't handle it anymore! Let the chips fall where they may!"
