ABU DHABI IN TOP 10 DESTINATIONS FOR 2008
New research from Expedia.co.uk has revealed that Abu Dhabi is one of the top 10 most-
wanted holiday destinations for 2008.
The poll of over 14,000 Expedia.co.uk customers, carried out at the end of 2007, revealed
that Abu Dhabi comes in as the fifth most popular holiday hot-spot, beating Alaska,
Reykjavik, Berlin, Boston and Liverpool.
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is a sought after destination for
holiday-makers seeking a mix of culture, tradition, sun and top class facilities. The
emirate boasts world class hotels, fabulous beaches and sumptuous restaurants all set
within the fascinating Arabic landscape. In addition, Abu Dhabi’s cultural and traditional
charm never fails to impress with a major charm for the visitors being the traditions
unchanged from the 19th century coexisting with the comforts of the 21st century.
Ali Al Hosani, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority’s Promotions Director said “The findings
from Expedia.co.uk’s poll demonstrate that Abu Dhabi tourism is a force to be reckoned
with. The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority have plans to boost visitor numbers from 1
million to 3 million by 2015 with the government identifying tourism as a key priority
sector for future growth and development.
“As well as all the emirate has to offer at the moment, guests can look forward to
enjoying a host of new developments that are in the pipeline and we very much look
forward to welcoming visitors from the UK as well as from around the world.”

surprised by the results which show that Brits are more adventurous and open minded
