                                 Economic Impact Model (MITEIM)

               The MITEIM model estimates the economic impact of visitor spending on
               the economy of the local region.

               Steps to complete an analysis are:
                1. Choose or edit a set of visitor spending profiles - SPEND PAGE
                2. Enter the number and types of visitors - VISITS PAGE
                3. Choose Multipliers for the local region - MULTIPLIERS PAGE
                4. Enter applicable state and local tax rates - TAXES PAGE
                5. View and/or Print Results - SUMMARY PAGE

                                                             When satisfied with spending estimates, proceed to choose multipliers
                                                             on MULTIPLIER page to complete the impact analysis
Choose generic or custom sets of multipliers
Regional economic impacts are obtained by applying the changes in
spending to a set of economic ratios and multipliers for the region. The                    Generic Multipliers
default multipliers in Table M are for a typical rural region. Four sets of
generic multipliers may be chosen by selecting buttons at the right. These                      Rural
represent regions of increasing economic development. You may also

import multipliers for specific regions using the 'Import custom multipliers"
button.                                                                                         Larger metro

Computations of Direct and Total effects are shown below in Tables M1 and                       State
M2 using the chosen multipliers. Most users may proceed directly to the
SUMMARY page, where overall economic impacts are summarized .
