Module 2.4: Learning about wikis
A wiki is an application within the Ultranet that allows you to quickly create and edit a
webpage. The most universal example of a wiki is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is the largest online
free encyclopedia and is written and edited collaboratively by largely anonymous internet
users.
A wiki allows users to create, edit and save information. Wikis can be used in a variety of ways
by individuals, small groups or a whole class to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
A wiki enables users to embed a range of files such as video and audio.
