Synopsis

In the blockbuster Romancing The Stone, novelist Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) and wanderer Jack
Colton (Michael Douglas) went sailing off into the sunset together. In this thrill-packed sequel, Ralph
(Danny Devito) is back on their trail and they're back in the fast lane on a perilous trek through the
fierce North African Desert. Not even treacherous tribes, deadly dungeons and seemingly endless
villains can stop this trio from finding, once and for all, that mysterious "jewel."

Nothing like it has ever been on earth before. A team of commandos, led by Dutch Schaeffer (Arnold
Schwarzenegger), go on a mission to rescue captured airmen from terrorists. When they discover that
the airmen have been slaughtered beyond recognition, the team decimates the enemy encampment.
Before they can radio for a lift-off, an invisible alien specie begins to kill the team members. Hunted
like animals by an enemy they cannot see, the team must survive in the jungle before they are all
killed.
He's survived the most hostile and primitive land known to man. Now all he's got to do is make it
through a week in New York. Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee is a free-spirited Australian who hunts
crocodiles with his bare hands, stares down giant water buffaloes, and drinks mre mortals under the
table. But he's about to face the ultimate torture test - a trip to New York City. Beautiful and
tenacious reporter Sue Charlton gets more than just a story as the "wonder from Down Under" rocks
the Big Apple to its core.

Raging Bull is director Martin Scorsese and actor Robert De Niro's brutal portrayal of a boxer, whose
primitive animalistic side lays dormant just under the skin, always close to exploding his normal
human facade. Uncompromising in its ruthless and honest vision of a walking time bomb, De Niro's
boxing sequences are famed for their realistic violence, while it's hard for anyone to even attempt
expressing such levels of anger in modern movies as he did here when his character wasn't happy
with his wife, family or friends.
In this 20th Anniversary Edition, Jake La Motta's tragic closing speech is no longer the end of the tale.
After the credits, a documentary entitled, 'The Bronx Bull' gives much deeper insight into the movie's
In the aftermath of his celebrated match with World Heavyweight Schoonmaker, and Jake Rocky

Balboa enjoys his success, and the money he earned from the match, which was declared a draw, and
the heavyweight championship didn't change hands. He marries his fiancee Adrian, buys her an
expensive fox fur, a sports car for himself, and a large new home. When a projected stint in TV
commercials fails because he is unable to remember his lines and cannot read the 'dummy boards'
being held for him, an embarrassed Rocky is forced to work for the meat packing company that
Adrian's brother Paulie works for. When Rocky later gets laid off from the meat packing company,
Adrian, who is now pregnant, tries to support them by continuing to work in the pet shop. Rocky
believes he has no future as a boxer and accepts a menial job at the gym run by his former trainer
Mickey. Apollo, angered by repeated taunts that his fight with Rocky was fixed, is eager for a high-
profile rematch with Rocky to prove that the match was a fluke. Adrian is against it, and doctors have
warned Rocky that with his injured eye, another fight could seriously damage his eyesight. With the
family resources declining and his pride wounded, Rocky decides that fighting is all he knows how to
do, and he makes the decision to get back in the ring with Apollo. Adrian's lack of support affects
Rocky's training, much to Mickey's dismay. When Adrian lapses into a coma after giving birth to a
Rocky battles his most powerful adversary yet - the ferocious Clubber Lang, played by none other
than Mr. T.! For what may be the most exciting and fast-paced film in the series, Sylvester Stallone
writes, directs and stars with explosive passion and intensity. As Rocky Balboa (Stallone) fights his way
into the hearts of millions, life couldn't be better. He scores ten consecutive wins, lands lucrative
endorsement contracts, and becomes famous throughout the world. But when Clubber Lang K.O.s
Rocky in a humiliating defeat, it becomes apparent that he has lost his edge. Considering hanging up
his gloves, Rocky receives encouragement from an unlikely ally: his old nemesis, Apollo Creed (Carl
Weathers). With Creed's help, Rocky strives to regain the "eye of the tiger" before confronting Lang in
a gruelling rematch for the world heavyweight championship.

Sylvester Stallone writes, directs and stars in this war between nations in which the only battle is
fought in a boxing ring. Rocky must defend his honour, his friend and America itself.Rocky proudly
holds the heavyweight boxing championship, but a new challenge has stepped forward: Drago (Dolf
Lundgren), a six-foot four-inch, 261-pound fighter who has the backing of the Soviet Union. Rocky's
friend, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) fights Drago in an exhibition match, but after Creed's fatal
defeat, Rocky knows he must avenge his friend and beat the Soviet adversary. Rocky's training
regimen takes him to icy Siberia, where he prepares for a globally-televised match in the heart of
Moscow. It's a powerfully-charged event as Rocky takes on Drago in a heart-pounding fight to the
finish.

After Rocky (Stallone) returns home from his latest triumph, he learns that all of his money has been
lost by an unscrupulous financial advisor. To make matters worse, his fight-related injuries force his
retirement from the ring. So Rocky, his wife Adrian (Talia Shire) and his son Rocky Jr. (Sage Stallone)
move to their old low-rent neighbourhood in South Philadelphia. There Rocky must resolve the deep-
rooted resentment held by his son, a bitterness that grows when Rocky trains Tommy Gunn, a young
boxer who soon rises to national prominence. When Tommy turns against his mentor and publicly
taunts him, Rocky knows he must fight once more.

A critically acclaimed film that won a total of eight 1970 Academy Awards (including Best Picture),
PATTON is a riveting portrait of one of the 20th century's greatest military geniuses. One of its Oscars
went to George C. Scott for his triumphant portrayal of George Patton, the only Allied general truly
feared by the Nazis. Charismatic and flamboyant, Patton designed his own uniforms, sported ivory-
handled six-shooters, and believed he was a warrior in past lives. He outmanoeuvred Rommel in
Africa, and after D-Day led his troops in an unstoppable campaign across Europe. But he was
rebellious as well as brilliant, and as PATTON shows with insight and poignancy, his own volatile
personality was one enemy he could never defeat.

"The leading icon of a generation" (Roger Ebert), Academy Award winner Clint Eastwood continues
his trademark role as the legendary "Man With No Name" in this second instalment of the famous
Sergio Leone trilogy. Scripted by Luciano Vincenzoni and featuring Ennio Morricone's haunting music
score, For A Few Dollars More is a modern classic - one of the greatest westerns ever made.
Eastwood is a keen-eyed, quick-witted bounty hunter on the bloody trail of Indio, the territory's most
treacherous bandit. But his ruthless rival, Colonel Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef, High Noon), is determined
to bring Indio in first ... dead or alive! Failing to capture their prey - or eliminate each other - the two
are left with only one option: team up, or face certain death at the hands of Indio and his band of
murderous outlaws.
By far the most ambitious, unflinchingly graphic and stylistically influential wester ever mounted. The
Good, The Bad And The Ugly is an engrossing actioner shot through with a volatile mix of myth and
realism. Clint Eastwood returns as the "Man With No Name," this time teaming with two gunslingers
(Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef) to pursue a cache of $200,000 - and letting no one, not even warring
factions in a civil war, stand in their way. From sun-drenched panoramas to bold hard closeups,
exceptional camera work captures the beauty and cruelty of the barren landscape and the hardened
characters who stride unwaveringly through it. Forging a vibrant and yet detached style of action that
had not been seen before, and has never been matched since, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
shatters the western mould in true Clint Eastwood style.

When a small Mexican village is terrorised by the evil bandit Calvera (Eli Wallach) and his gang of
bloodthirsty men, only The Magnificent Seven have the courage, the daring and the firepower to
come to the rescue! The town's farmers have no guns, no money and not a violent bone in their
bodies. So they head for the border and find Chris (Yul Brynner) and Vin (Steve McQueen), two out-of-
work, hired guns who round up five more rugged outlaws, including James Coburn, Charles Bronson
and Robert Vaughn. Now, the Seven are ready for action, and they're not in it for the money - they're
in it for the adventure. At first, victory seems assured. But Calvera won't give up, and decides to come
back for some serious bloodshed. The Magnificent Seven must ride to the rescue and free the town in
a spectacular fight to the death that makes this film a true action-adventure classic!

"Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo catch fire" (USA Today) in this sizzling, suspense-filled thriller from
the director of Die Hard and The Hunt For Red October. Thrill-seeking billionaire Thomas Crown
(Brosnan) loves nothing more than courting disaster - and winning! So when his world becomes too
stiflingly "safe," he pulls off his boldest stunt ever: stealing a priceless painting - in broad daylight -
from one of Manhattan's most heavily-guarded museums. But his post-heist excitement soon pales
beside an even greater challenge: Catherine Banning (Russo). A beautiful insurance investigator hired
to retrieve the artwork, Catherine's every bit as intelligent, cunning and hungry for adventure as he is.
And just when Thomas realizes he's finally met his match, she skillfully leads him into a daring game
of cat and mouse that's more intoxicating - and dangerous - than anything either of them has ever
experienced before.

On a snowy Christmas Eve in the nation's capital, a team of terrorists has seized a major international
airport and now hold thousands of holiday travellers hostage. The terrorists, a renegade band of crack
military commands led by a murderous rogue officer (William Sadler), have come to rescue a drug
lord from justice. They've prepared for every contingency except one: John McClane, an off duty cop
gripped with a feeling of deadly dejÀ vu. Bruce Willis returns as the heroic cop who battles not only
terrorists, but also an incompetent airport police chief (Dennis Franz), the hard-headed commander
(John Amos) of the Army's anti-terrorist squad and a deadly winter snowstorm. The runways are
littered with death and destruction, and McClane is in a race against time. His wife (Bonnie Bedelia) is
trapped on one of the planes circling overhead, which is desperately low on fuel. It's all-out war, a
heart-stopping, jet-propelled journey filled with excitement and terror. Fasten your seat belts!

Claire Kubik's perfect world comes crashing down when the FBI charges her husband Tom with the
murder of innocent civilians during a covert Army operation fifteen years before. Aided by a shrewd
ex-military lawyer, Claire fights to clear Tom's name, but gets too close to exposing a government
cover-up in the process. See 'High Crimes (2001) / Unfaithful (2001)'.
When a former member of the U.S. Army Special Forces returns to his small hometown in rural
Washington State to revive his familys lumber mill business, he discovers that much has changed, as
the normally tranquil town is now besieged by drugs, outbreaks of violence and a general feeling of
malaise and terror, with many pointing a finger at the influence of a crooked casino where his ex-
girlfriend now works as a dancer. Seeking to wreak vengeance, with a four-foot-long 2-by-4 in his
hand, and righteousness in his heart, the highly-trained soldier, now the countys sheriff, and his
deputy, realizes its time to bust some heads with a very hard piece of wood.

The Predator is back - this time hunting Los Angeles! It comes from a distant world to hunt people for
sport. Invisible and armed with powerful weapons unlike anything we know, it stalks its human quarry
mercilessly, leaving mangled corpses in its wake. Last time it landed in the jungle - this time its chosen
LA. Ravaged by open warfare between rival drug gangs, LA is the perfect killing ground for the
Predator, who is driven by heat and conflict. When the police find a mutilated body, lieutenant Mike
Harrigan (Danny Glover) thinks its the work of the feuding gangs. Then a mysterious government
agent (Gary Busey) arrives and orders him to stay off the case. Instead, Harrigan sets out to learn
what is really going on and comes face to face with a savage alien in a climactic, electrifying
confrontation.

The Forces of Light and Darkness have co-existed in a delicate balance for hundreds of years until
now. Even as the Night Watch polices the Dark Others - among them vampires, witches and shape-
shifters - a chain of mysterious events triggers a dreaded, age old prophecy: One of the gifted ones
will come to switch sides, shattering the balance and unleashing an apocalyptic war unlike any the
world has ever known.

When a good cop (Peter Weller) gets blown away by some ruthless criminals, innovative scientists
and doctors are able to piece him back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg called
"Robocop." Impervious to bullets and bombs, and equipped with high-tech weaponry, Robocop
quickly makes a name for himself by cleaning up the crime-ridden streets of violence-ravaged Detroit.

Wealthy teenager Charlie Bartlett is failing miserably at fi tting in at a new public high school run by
the world-weary Principal Gardner. As he begins to better understand the social hierarchy, Charlie’s
honest charm and likeability positions him as the resident “psychiatrist” dishing out advice, and the
occasional prescription with his partner and fellow student, Murphy Bivens, to other students in
need. Along the way, he decides to take some of his own advice, fi nd romance, and learn to accept
who he is, thus wielding a witty dark comedy about the angst-fi lled years before college.

Hotel Rwanda, Ocean's Thirteen, Crash), an outspoken ex-con talks his way into becoming an iconic
1960's Washington DC radio personality.

on his producer, Dewey Hughes (Golden Globe nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dirty Pretty Things and
Kinky Boots), to mediate, Petey's unprecedented "tell it like it is" on-air style gives voice and spirit to
the community during an exciting and turbulent period in American history.

Since the beginning of time, the Predators, the feared, hulking alien game hunters, have come to
Earth for one simple reason: to engage in a coming of age ritual. To become "men," the teenage
Predators have to hunt down a hive of Alien warriors and successfully defeat them and claim the skull
as its trophy. However, during one hunting session, the easily aggravated Aliens fight back, leading to
the destruction of the two species and the Aztec people who worshipped the Predators as Gods.
Nearly two thousand years later, billionaire industrialist Charles Bishop Weyland (Lance Henriksen)
rediscovers the pyramid, buried thousands of feet under the ice of Antarctica, with his satellites.
Knowing that he has discovered something important, Weyland fixes up a team, led by Lex Woods
(Sanaa Lathan), and heads down to the Antarctic to find the pyramid. But once they get there, the
enslaved Queen Alien awakens from her sleep, which results in the production of new eggs and
Facehuggers. And to make matters worse, the new hunting clan of teenage Predators, led by the
brash and violent Celtic, have arrived, ready to hunt down both the Aliens and the humans within...

When a Predator scout ship crash-lands in the hills outside the town, Alien facehuggers are released
in the crash, and an even more evil creature - a hybrid Alien/Predator - is also released. A man and his
son hunting in the forests near the crash site soon become the first victims of the facehuggers, and
when a Predator receives data about the crash on his home planet, he comes to Earth. One at a time,
the inhabitants of the town become targets of the Aliens and the Predator, including the local sheriff,
a young female soldier recently returned from Iraq, and several teens. Though the National Guard is
called in, they are unable to stop the deadly creatures, and a plan is set in motion to destroy the town
with a nuclear device.

buddy Russo (Roy Scheider) hope to break a narcotics smuggling ring and ultimately uncover The
French Connection. But when one of the criminals tries to kill Doyle, he begins a deadly pursuit that
takes him far outside the city limits.
French Connection II (1975) - Gene Hackman reprises his Oscar-winning* role as Popeye Doyle, the
hard-nosed New York detective determined to break a French narcotics ring. Kidnapped by heroin
kingpin Alain Charnier (Fernando Rey) in Marseilles, Doyle is mercilessly forced to become a junkie
himself. Upon his release, Doyle must kick his habit and join forces with his French police counterpart
(Bernard Fresson) to hunt down Charnier. Gritty action, riveting performances and a vividly realistic
setting make French Connection II a powerful sequel to the brilliant original.

In Pale Rider, Clint Eastwood returned to the saddle after nine years - and Western movies were
riding high again. Here the star/director crafted an exciting film in the suspenseful tradition of Shane
and High Noon. After corporate mining boss Coy LaHood begins a campaign of terror to drive
independent pan miners out of the area, a nameless stranger called Preacher rides into the
underdogs' camp. He becomes their avenger. The tycoon then hires a badge-wearing killer and his
duster-shrouded deputies, men loyal to whomever pays the most. LaHood pays gold. But in a
climactic shootout to remember, Preacher pays in lead.

This unusual combination of bare knuckle fighting and light hearted children's romp was also a
comedic change of pace for its rugged star Clint Eastwood. Eastwood plays trucker Philo Beddoe, a
revered brawler who lives in a shack with his mother (Ruth Gordon) and an orangutan, Clyde, who
sips beer and thumbs his nose at authority. Philo is preparing for a bout against the wishes of his
mother and his new love interest (Sandra Locke). If clashing with the women in his life weren't
enough, he has to deal with his cocky opponent, gamblers, and a chopper gang who constantly
harrass him. Fortunately, he does have Clyde backing him up as well as his trusty companion Orville
Boggs (regular Eastwood collaborator Geoffrey Lewis). This bizarre hick comedy was a surprise hit
and spawned a sequel featuring many in the original cast. The country soundtrack combines the
talents of Steve Dorff and Snuff Garrett and boasts a hit single by Eddie Rabbit.

Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities is the true story of how two men changed the face of organised crime
in Australia.
Aussie Bob Trimbole and Kiwi Terry Clark are an unlikely pair. One an overweight Italian-Australian
who loves his food and marijuana crops; the other a charming young New Zealander, in love with
money, power and the allure of beautiful women.
But at their first meeting in 1976, Trimbole and Clark click. Together, they mastermind the large-scale
importation and distribution of heroin into Australia.
The easy success of their plan results in the underworld becoming awash with drug money, and a shift
in the nature of organised crime in Australia. Old style crims, such as standover boys Les and Brian
Kane in Melbourne, and illegal casino operator George Freeman in Sydney, find their criminal
livelihoods suddenly overwhelmed by heroin.
For Trimbole and Clark, the success of their 'Organisation' is dependent on Clark's charm, the
contribution made by his lover Allison Dine in recruiting the drug couriers, and a network of corrupt
NSW Police and judiciary. And for a time, they get away with murder lots of it, starting with the
assassination of NSW politician and anti-drugs campaigner Donald Mackay.
But not every cop in NSW and Victoria is corrupt, and when the Commonwealth Police join forces
with their State counterparts they place heavy heat on the Organisation's members. All it will take is

Master filmmaker Kenji Mizoguchi adapts this story of forbidden love from the 17th century story by
Chikamatsu Monzaemon, considered the 'Japanese Shakespeare'. Originally penned for Bunraku, the
traditional Japanese puppet theatre, Mizoguchi has created a touching and gripping tale which is,
undoubtedly, essential viewing for any film lover. Based on a centuries-old tale with roots in real
events, The Crucified Lovers tells the hauntingly tragic story of a forbidden love affair between a
merchant's wife, Osan, and her husband's employee, Mohei, in an era when the punishment for
adultery was crucifixion. When a series of innocent events lead to the false accusation of an affair
between Osan and Mohei, the accused pair are forced to flee an almost certain death sentence. On
the run, the outlaw couple grow closer together, drawn inexorably towards the romantic crime of
which they are accused.

Based on an ancient story from Chinese history, The Empress Yang Kwei Fei is a romantic and tragic

colour, his artistic flair perfectly adapts to the changing format, creating a aesthetic feast for the eyes
to complement the intricacy of the plot. During the dying days of the T'ang dynasty, which ruled
China until the 8th century, the Emperor Hsuan-tsung is tormented with grief after the death of his

The Big Blue charts the competition and friendship between Jacques and Enzo first in their youth, and
then when they meet again at the World Free Diving Championships in Sicily years later. A dreamy
adolescent, Jacques (Jean-Marc Barr, Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark) has grown into a
solitary man, caught between the solidity of the real world and the spiritual beckoning of "the big
blue", and in particular the dolphins swimming below. He possesses a unique connection to the sea,
the ability to slow his heartbeat and circulation on deep dives, a phenomenon previously only
observed in whales and dolphins. Enzo (Jean Reno, Leon: The Professional, Ronin), however, has
become the World Champion at his sport with a very different approach. Their rivalry reignited, the
pair spur each other on to deeper and deadlier dives. Besson's first English language production is a
story of extremes; of love and solitude, friendship and rivalry, life and death.

against a mysterious enemy. Condon's cowardice is put to the test as he climbs about outside the
speeding train and participates in a very British, stiff-upper-lipped shoot-out during High Tea..

12th Century England is a deadly time of dark tyranny, black magic and the outlaw archer known as
Robin Hood. The Sheriff of Nottingham unleashes a winged monster upon the town and woods to
massacre Robins men and capture Maid Marian.

Welcome to the dark side of Camelot. King Arthur is gone. The Round Table is in ruins. A rogue
sorcerer has unleased a reign of monstrous terror upon the land. For the courts last remaining
Knights, their only hope lays in the powers of the now-bitter and broken wizard Merlin.

Welcome to a depraved domain of outrageous comedy, non-stop ultra-violence and bad-ass theme
songs! The story follows the adventures of El Superbeasto, a washed-up Mexican luchador, and his
sultry sidekick and sister Suzi-X as they confront an evil villain by the name of Dr. Satan. The
adventure, set in the mythic world of Monsterland, also has a character named Murray the robot.
