Happy Birthday to Brenda!
July Fourth marked the official celebration of
Brenda Henning's 60th birthday. The party was
unique in the wide variety of Brenda's friends that
joined in the celebration. There were friends from
school in India, friends from Brenda's time in
Australia, work friends, Emmaus friends, relative
friends and just plain friends.

Brenda's message to us: Thank you so much to all at
the Emmaus community who came to help me
celebrate my 60 years. It was wonderful to have all
the various aspects of my life right there in my back
yard.
I am sure you all met my school friends from India,
my Australian friends from Perth, my children and

The Emmaus Prayer Pot (Continued) Keep It Bubbling!
Remember to pray that Pat Murphy's mother, Sophie Gallus, finds a way to deal with her arthritis.
Keep praying for the Don and Barbara Smalter's son Kent, who continues his fight with ALS.
Kitty Sample asks us to pray for all those who do not have good health.
Prayerfully remember Ted Welte's friend Hugo Hollinger, who suffers with cancer.
Offer up a prayer for Betsy Nagurney's brother, Michael, who is fighting prostate cancer.
Jim Murphy asks us to pray for those who have to make painful decisions in laying off employees.
Ask God to guide Marie Hawe's son Kiernan in making good decisions in his search for employment.
Don't forget to pray for Jeanne Fogg's complete knee function as she starts her recovery at home.
Say a prayer of recovery for George Cranston's sister, Betty, who recently broke her arm.
Marie Hawe asks us to remember in our prayers Ruth Jette, who recently passed away.
Keep on praying that Mary Ann Austin lands that good job that seems to be almost in her grasp.
Give God thanks and praise that Clare Duffy seems to been a winner in her recent bout with cancer.
Ask the Spirit to guide Teen King in her search for a new home that will be closer to her friends.

I often think of all our friends, Emmaus and all that
we shared. Those were good years. We are
fortunate to have found a community much like
Emmaus in FL. It is in Apollo Beach, south of
Tampa, and about 20 minutes from Patti & Adrian in
Ruskin, FL. Their 2 boys, Nathan & Jeffrey, are in
college too. Patti discovered our place in
an over 55 Co-op and thought it just right for us. She
was so right. In addition to owning our double wide,

money to buy the land on which the
community developed. They did all the work
