Can we identify what each category does for
the body in sport?
• Long Bones – Act as levers, for movement. ie.
running, jumping.
Short Bones – These are used for very fine movements
at the ankle and wrist.

Flat Bones (plate bones) – they protect vital organs
Irregular Bones – These protect vital organs too!
