South West Inter-Counties Championships 2008
Changes From Last Year
No changes have been made to the programme or standards from last year.
Notes To Officials
(1) The Triple Jump competitions for U17s and U20s and for SM / SW are to be held using two parallel run-ups into the same pit along the home straight.
(2) The U15/U17 3000m event will require a split start with athletes in lanes 5-8 breaking at the top of the home straight due to expected numbers.
(3) There is a 30 minute gap in the track timetable at 13.15pm to allow all track officials / timekeepers a dedicated lunch break.
(4) Except for the vertical jumps, field events for the U13, U15, U17 and U20 age groups will be restricted to 3 attempts.
(5) Printed field cards and start lists will be available for all events.
Notes To Team Managers
(1) Teams may enter one (two for U13s) athlete in every event, regardless of standard.
(2) Up to 3 athletes may be entered if ALL athletes can reach the elite standards set.
(3) The Elite Standard times quoted for U17M/U17W steeplechase are for 1500m races, even though there is only a 2000m distance event provided.
(4) Races will be seeded according to declared best times.
(5) Points will be awarded for only the leading athlete in each team, with points being awarded on the basis of times recorded in events with multiple heats.
(6) If you are able, please submit your team lists by e-mail to me at Ian.Humphreys@freeuk.com
(7) Non-electronic entries by Wed 1st August, otherwise by Fri 3rd August.
(8) Please remember to change the team name in box B4 of each age group list.
(9) All Team Managers should bring a copy of their team sheet, with changes highlighted, to the annoucers box no later than 10.30am.
(10) Any further team changes should be brought to me in the announcers box as soon as possible as I have to (re)print corrected field cards and start lists.
(11) No team changes will be allowed after 30 minutes prior to the timetabled event time.
(12) Provisional results will be available via e-mail late on the evening of the championships to everyone who gives me their e-mail address.
On Filling In This Declaration Sheet
(1) Please complete the "Contact Details" sheet so that I know how to contact everyone if there is a query regarding an entry and for results distribution.
(2) Ensure you change the "County" name on this sheet - it will be copied over onto the other sheets as appropriate.
(3) Please enter all athletes names as "Firstname SURNAME", including full name (not just initials).
(4) Please ensure that you indicate Best Times for all sprint events up to and including 400m (and Hurdles) as races will be seeded on this basis.
