Context: This term you have been studying Australian Government in SOSE. You
have discussed how the government works; looked at different levels of government
and their responsibilities to Australian citizens; the path to becoming an Australian
citizen and finally Australian elections.
As a result of your new found knowledge and understanding of the Australian
Government; popular toy manufacturer Mattel, has enlisted your help to build a fun
and educational family board game that teaches players about Australian government.
Task: In small groups, you are to build an interactive board game that teaches players
about the Australian governmental system.
Your board game must:
Have a name
Include clear rules
Have a minimum playing time of 10 minutes
Be designed for a minimum of 3 players
Have at least 10 questions per group member on the topic. (*hint: the more
indepth your questions are, the better your mark will be!*)
On the scheduled playing day you will need to provide any materials needed
to play your game (i.e. dice, counters, spinners, etc)
You might come up with a new and unique board game concept or you might like to
‘borrow’ some ideas from games such as:
Snakes and ladders
Monopoly
Trivial Pursuit
