WK4W: Women Knitting for Women
2011 in review
* We held 3 meetings in 2011 (February, July and November)
* We sent 27 blankets to Ethiopia c/- Hamlin Fistula Trust, Sydney, in Sept 2011, via Pack & Send, Milton
* We received a lovely acknowledgement letter from the Hamlin Fistula Trust - see page 2
* We raised $85.00 selling raffle tickets at our end of year meeting
* Thanks to Chop Haircutters and Neo Pizza, Pasta & Gelati, both of Highgate Hill, for donating raffle prizes
* We will continue to raise funds in 2012 so we can send a sizeable donation to the Hamlin Fistula Trust
to cover their costs to freight our blankets to Ethiopia
* We’ve ended the calendar year with $173.04 in the WK4W account. We raise funds to cover our freight
costs and to make donations to the Hamlin Fistula Trust. We are a craft group, not a charity, so we
cannot issue tax receipts. To make a tax deductible donation, please contact the Hamlin Fistula Trust
* Our 2012 meetings are on Sunday afternoons 19 Feb, 3 June, 21 Oct at Brisbane Square Library Meeting
Room (ground floor), cnr George & Adelaide Sts, Brisbane city. More info sent out before each meeting
* Since we started WK4W in Nov 2009 we have shipped 57 blankets to the Trust and donated $800.00
