More Scanning information
You can change resolution to 100, 200, 300, 400 and 600 dpi (dots per inch). Default in usually 200 dpi.
Higher resolution gives higher quality but huge file size.
To change resolution:
Press the Options button below the blue screen.
Press OK. (Don’t choose Output Method)
Press the up button until you see Resolution. Press OK
Choose the resolution that you require.
Unless you intent to enlarge your image, it doesn’t need to be higher than 300dpi. The default is 200dpi.
If you make it too high, file size will be huge. If you make it too low, image quality will be reduced.
Use 100dpi for documents that are going to be emailed or sent over the internet in some other format.
Scan a standard photo (150 x 100cm) at 300dpi if it’s being reproduced at similar size, but for an image out of a book to go into a
report, 200dpi is all that would be needed.
600dpi would only be used when a small image, say 3 x 4 cm in size needed to be reproduced and scaled up in size for a report
where the finished result was around say 6 x 8 cm.
Depending on the file format you select, the following limitations will apply:
Under the FileType Option Multi-page:TIFF, Multi-page:PDF
If you select a multi-page file type when scanning multiple originals, scanned pages are combined and sent as a single file.
Single Page:TIFF/JPEG, Single Page:PDF
If you select a single-page file type when scanning multiple originals, one file is created for single page and the number of files sent is
the same as the number of pages scanned.
Change size of the original The following items and sizes can be selected: A4, A5,A5, B5, JIS, 8½”×14”, 8½”×13, 8½”×11”,5½×8½ V, 5½×8½ H
