district in the U.S. state of California that stretches up Republican Henry Markham 17,397 49.1%
the Pacific coast north of the San Francisco Bay. It covers Democratic R. A. Del Valle 16,990 47.9%
Marin County and most of Sonoma County and includes
Prohibition Will D. Gould 821 2.3%
the cities of Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, Novato,
San Rafael, and Mill Valley. Populist Isaac Kinley 237 0.7%
The district is currently represented by Democrat Totals 35,445 100.0%
Lynn Woolsey. Republican win (new seat)
John Kerry won the district in 2004 with 70.3% of the
vote. The district became more Democratic in 2008 with
Barack Obama winning 76% of the vote to John McCain’s
